I'm trying to sell a wow token and it is saying i cannot sell a soulbound item

I have no Idea what to do I was going to try and sell my WoW token so my buddy could have game time after i gave him the gold for it and when i went to sell the token on the auction house it says i cannot sell a soulbound item.

If it’s a token you bought off the AH, it cannot be resold on the AH, only redeemed for game time or Blizzard Balance.

I didnt buy it off the AH I bought it with blizzard balance and now i’m not able to sell it.

From what I can see, Pathrus, you purchased that Token for gold. It can only be used to add game time or Balance to the account. It can’t be resold on the Auction House.

On this account? I can only see the current Wow Token you have, which was purchased the Auction House for 114,361 gold about 2 weeks ago.

You purchased two other WoW Tokens from the shop, in January and around the first week of April. Both purchases were made with a Visa. The only purchase I see made with Balance recently is for a character boost from a few days ago.

Huh. that’s weird I must have bought it and just didnt remember sorry if I caused any trouble also I had no Idea that you cant resell tokens, I think it would be nice if you guys added that in somewhere where it lets you know that tokens are not resellable (for example in the tooltip)

No worries. Just trying to give an outline. That helps when trying to track down what someone may have done.

We tend not to try and clutter the tooltips too much and contain base information.

The information is available through the Shop when you buy the token there.

And the Tooltip on the Token itself says:

If you believe it should say more, I’d recommend submitting feedback through the submit suggestion option in the help menu in-game. +

I just bought two WoW Tokens via the Blizzard Shop, in game, and they both say

WoW Token
Soulbound
“Can be sold for gold in the Auction House”
Auction Cannot Auction

I would include a screen capture, but for some reason, this form doesn’t provide me with that option.
I’m sure my inexperience with WoW tokens is probably at fault, but I am pretty sure I bought one a year or two ago and didn’t have any issue with it.

Okay, well… Even though it says “Cannot Auction” I was able to list it for sale in the AH. So, never mind.

Do you have any addons that help with the Auction House by chance, Thewookiee? That last bit doesn’t appear to be part of the standard tooltip for that item.

I just bought a wow token with blizzard balance but it won’t allow me to right click it to use it, it won’t let me redeem game time.

If you bought it with your blizzard balance then it can only be used to sell on the AH for gold, the token you buy from the AH for gold are what can be used for game time.

You can use your the blizzard balance to buy blocks of game time directly.

Really doesn’t make sense to buy a token for $20 to get game time you can buy for $15.

If you have auctionator disable it then sell the token .

Please be mindful of the age of threads. This one is two years old.

Don’t have to disable Auctionator. Just use the base UI’s sell tab. Manually click and drag the token from your bag to the second tab.
