I don’t really know what happened to people on the internet, but it feels like forums/reddit have kinda bled into the game. Everyone is selfish but also ignorant of any mechanics. It seems like a lot of these players literally don’t know what any of these bosses do but still have an inflated ego and think they’re a world first raider. Everyone compares numbers they don’t understand and gets upset about failing imaginary mechanics on bosses. Asking for dispels on things that aren’t dispellable, etc. It seems like even if you explain these things to people in a way that makes logical sense they still don’t get it.
I don’t really know what happened to people in general but somehow they’ve all become annoying to play with, elitist, and narcistic. It’s enough to where I don’t really feel like playing tbc anymore because it reminds me of my irl job where people who don’t know what they’re doing are making decisions.

There are normal WoW players out there you just gotta find your people and stick with them. Most players shun what could be good friends…

Have you tried a guild? Guilds solve pretty much all these problems.

Unfortunately, I’m referring to guilds.

We just spent a year were all we could do was yell at each other on the internet.
Although you are right gaming communities have gone down hill.
Video games are no longer games they have turned into jobs. With esports and now streaming meta. S Happens.
Just like the loot box meta dying one day this will die and change into something worse lol.

Just a reflection of the societal breakdown & division that is happening IRL. That’s what happens when cultures normalize & celebrate corruption, malevolence, apathy, greed & predatory behavior as the go-to means to get ahead in life.

Anonymity is the cause of people being ****ers on the internet.
It’s just the nature of the beast.

Boomkin (in regards to the tank): I guess I’ll decurse since you clearly aren’t going to.
Me (holy paladin): That is correct.

Rest of the 5man group: what the hell just happened?
This has been a more common interaction than I expected it to be thus far.

No one is anonymous on the internet anymore, lol.
Respect is now a 4 way street with a U turn and two lane exits.
People were disrespectful in 2004. The issue is if you take things too seriously and expect greatness out of every person both in skill and attitude, it’s going to be a bumpy ride
