Not to mention the higher arena rating, the more alliance heavy it becomes.
The alliance racials are also better for M+ as we can see in the MDI’s where they almost exclusively pick alliance races. It’s just that on real servers the alliance M+ is suffering as the high end raiding/pve players are almost all on horde. (outside of Oceania where it’s reversed).
Blizzard forcibly changes peoples characters until there is an even 1 to 1 ratio for the entire world. This is counting all characters on an account, not just max level. Might wreck some servers and guilds, but think of the health benefits.
It would be nice to see a competitive Alliance raiding scene equal to Horde’s competitive raiding scene.
I find it sort of demoralizing that to basically find more end game raiding opportunities ,and a better pool of raiders you have to be horde. I hate this because it basically hurts the raiding scene for alliance players that want to raid and stay Alliance. They want to stay loyal to their faction, they want to play alliance. They don’t want to have to spend money and transfer to horde.
Instead of forcing a perfect 50 50. How about you instead get rid of the divide all together, and allow 100% of the players to cooperate.
Consider: In the mythic raiding scene. The previous hall of fame was 97% Horde dominated.
If the faction wall was to come down. Then you would realistically see most of the same guilds appear on the next hall of fame.
Nobody would be hurt, no guilds would be broken. And players would have the choice to form new guilds with all the races.
Problem solved.
People keep asking for factions to be removed, but can the game’s programming even support that? Keep this in mind; the amount of work needed to do that to change a core concept of the franchise is hefty.
Also, disabling racials now wouldn’t help. At all. It’d just swing the pendulum even further - especially because the imbalance is in Raiding/M+/PvP. These things matter to these players, and when you remove any incentives, they’ll funnel to wherever the majority is.
Top end guilds need to be encouraged to go back Alliance.
Give them free transfers. Don’t allow guilds to race unless it’s Horde vs Alliance at Blizzcon.
And as much as I hate “freebies”, giving the Alliance a slight gear advantage while the imbalance is active outside of wPvP - something that I’ll admit is niche as heck as somebody who plays mostly for it - to encourage people to swap for the advantage.
Is it unfair? Yes. Is having an entire faction struggle to group for content fair? No. They can deal with it for a patch.
Racials can be overturned a tad on Alliance with them being nerfed once things are balanced.
Also, pulling a Siege of Boralus 2.0. (Granted, the pull that made it harder on Alliance is null now thanks to obelisks.)
The things that need to be done aren’t pretty, but they need to be. But it also needs to be reverted once things are balanced again, or it’ll keep flip-flopping.
And frankly, for me, I’ve been wanting to get back into raiding again. My work may allow me to schedule for it once I’m allowed to go back, but the population on my server collapsed Alliance side despite being somewhat stable until two patches ago. I’m not paying extra just to be able to do mythic; I paid way too much for server and faction changes in the past only to see guilds collapse weeks later, and that adds up too quickly. (And this is a legit fear for a lot of Alliance guilds right now in general. Are they just going to go Horde too? Do I have to pay even more?)
Free transfers might entice some to check out the remaining Alliance guilds.
I played with one of the top Horde raiding guilds on a server that had a bit of a rivlary with one of the top Alliance servers back at the end of MoP.
Funnest times ever.
Nobody was a jerk and almost all the jesting was in good fun, the wPvP was amazing, and the hype was absolutely insane.
I miss those days. A lot.
Bullcrap. Private servers have done it for years.
No. Why would an existing, established, raiding guild on the Horde, that has access to the other, existing established raiding guilds on the Horde leave to join the alliance just because it’s free?
People enjoy having access to a huge player pool on the Horde, and so raiding on the Horde is generally considered to be more advantageous, and more fun than the alliance for raiding specifically.
This could be instantly remedied by combining the player pools of both factions, since we constantly team up at the end of every expansion anyways.
The n’zoth faction toy you get for 10 own-faction kills in warmode while assassin proves that it is.
It puts you in a different faction with its own speech, hostilities and puts you friendly with other people with it activated. The text itself mentions that you are in different faction.
It’s possible even that this toy was put in to test drive that feature before they expand it.
Then forget it and switch to Horde.
Or, they can do what I suggested and what almost every major faction leader asks for. Remove the faction divide and allow cross-faction grouping.
That will not happen. They have said that will not happen. If you are going to shoot down every other possible solution but what they have said they will not do, then again, forget it and switch to Horde if you want to do serious raiding.
Free account wide transfers for guilds with aotc or mythic kills maybe. Free server transfers too. Then turn it off when it balances out more.
Alliance racials are not form better already but not many guilds will pay for 3-4 characters each to swap so make it free and come with a 60 day cannot transfer back cool down.
Obviously Vulpera Druids for Alliance only would solve the issue. Or mechagnome druids…everybody want a small Druid. SmDrood one side, bam, scales tipped.
Heres my terrible idea entry:
Hard-cap Horde guilds per server.
They had a good idea with the sharding but poor implementation.
on a five minute timer it should look at whats in the zone and equalize the numbers. so it seems like more players are in a zone at one time.
maybe a 60/40 split in areas more horde / alliance heavy for example
Well I’m glad you asked! -totally not said ala Robot Chicken’s Emperor Palpatine. Honest.-
“Oh! Capture me a Worgen, as Things from Beyond fly by. Laugh at poor Kilrogg who has lost his eye, kill another Worgen Hunter; lets protect the Horde’s main Bunker, stab a Orc in his Gork and watch him die. Corrupt an Elf, corrupt myself. Grow tentacles and learn how to grill, am I really a person or a piece of calamari; I don’t know quite what the deal is but Factions must die!!”
Ahem. I’ll mail you the rest.
The gist of Lacryma’s solution appeared to involve assassinating Tyrande Whisperwind and Malfurion Stormrage; followed by the Horde and Alliance merging into a super-faction, along with several unhinged rants about Silvermoon’s Magistry and their politics. All in all it seemed pretty regulation.
Oh I know that, but that doesn’t change the fact that buffing alliance racials won’t help anything. But if they really want to fix the actual problem, then my solution is the only one I’ve seen that even remotely has a chance of fixing it.
and I hope they stay keeping classes in one spec in classic where it belongs. Being shoehorned into one spec is ridiculous
Not my job to get Alliance to participate with me. My job is to participate with the people who want to progress through content on Alliance.
