I'm sorry Blizzard, but 8.2 is boring and disappointing so far

But its not, so

Even scarier is that, what if he thinks this is actually good? What if this is the type of content/gameplay he likes? This is the person who oversees the direction of the game.

I’m having fun, back to lots of stuff to do again.

I believe you are the audience they were appealing to when they made this patch.

The daily quests feel like they take forever and so far most of the WQ have been annoying. Also there don’t seem to be that many at a time making it hard to get any sort of rep. Also 50 rep is pitiful for the time it takes to complete daily quests.

Also phasing has been horrible for alot of people. Try to go for a tradeskill node or one of those clickies for a quest and they despawn right when your close to them. Of course when this happens you still get to kill a pile of trash guarding it.

And yea that ilvl nerf on the weapon was crappy on Blizzards part. They knew it was a high ilvl all the way through the beta and decided to “fix” it when it went live? That right there shows they didn’t have proper balance testing on new content if everyone was in there with a 415 weapon from the get go. I mean 370 is useless to anyone who has been 120 for more than 2 or 3 days of actually playing.

I can get and appreciate what you’re saying… but again, players have been getting told “wait and see” over and over again. The current design team has not proven good at delivering on “wait and see”. The complaints I’m seeing about the patch revolve around 1) the look and feel of Nazjatar, 2) lack of class changes, 3) story isn’t interesting.

#1 wont be changing now that the patch is live. #2 and #3 have been the same complaints that have been going on since Beta. So what is waiting going to accomplish for people who have been unhappy with the game? Particularly since Ion gave a big interview claiming Rise of Azshara was gonna to be the “fix it patch” for Battle for Azeroth. What has actually been fixed?

I love the music in Nazjatar, and the Benthic gear is FINALLY a step in the direction of giving players some agency in their personal progression, but it’s countered by the continued presence of Azerite gear/traits. The addition of Essences, yet another “temporary system” fueled by grinding Artifact Power, feels like desperation on Blizzard’s part - the activated abilities also lack the organic, integrated feeling of the Artifact weapon abilities, as our characters weren’t designed with them in mind, they were only tacked on. This further exacerbates the frustration with class/spec design.

I hate to come off as Negative Nancy. I’m still playing the game, working to keep my community together during a rough expansion that has seemed hell bent on driving players away. I was in the last two alpha/betas, and pop in here hoping against hope that feedback will be listened to and acted on. But since they’ve said “major fixes”, which is what the game needs, will have to wait for the next expansion, BfA is a developmentally dead expansion. Telling people to “wait and see” is only going to add to frustrations because we aren’t blind to the patterns of behavior that Blizzard has presented us with since Legion.

What was destroyed in the Warbringer video was a part of Suramar - Zin-Aszhari. I could understand a portion of Nazjatar being those ruins, but this is supposed to be the seat of power for a 10,000 year old kingdom ruled by a narcissistic zealot. There should be more recently constructed areas, not just the Palace. Even a throw away line mentioning how most of Nazjatar remains behind the wall of water could have mitigated player complaints, but no, Aszhara speaks of how wonderful and amazing the areas we see are…

Suramar was amazing. I expected something more akin to that.

I was thinking something along the lines of ‘The Abyss’ and the rising of cool structures out of the water. Not some Argus-Azsuna-Broken Shore collage.

Even the title made me think that the “rise” could have really worked there. Their colors already kinda work with the theme of that movie. The cheese could have been easily avoided, too.

I agree. With the Warbringer video, we see her city, we see her fall, she is still the queen and she and her people are tuned into Naga. We see the Naga all over the zone, but well, we don’t see a city. Possibly we’re in the surrounding area, much like the suburban areas of Suramar, but as you said, she leads us to believe that what we see is all there really is.

its a bad patch to be honest the only thing coming is the mythic dungeon and raids in a few weeks.also if you dont have path finder 1 what are you grinding rep for? and those that have ilvl 420 gear or more dont need to do the gear catch up.

so who is 8.2 for?mythic raiders.

this is a gear catch up patch for alts

Just staying in Zandalar, and Kul Tiras tbh. Finishing up Leveling a kul Tiran, and zandalari troll(already leveled a mag Har, and dark iron). 8.2 should of just been called trash mobs lol. Pathfinder? Just like Legion. Will level up next xpac, and come back to nuke Naz, and Mech. One shot all that trash these devs thought would make compelling content lol.

I am glad i am not the only one who sees it this way. 8.2 did 0 for anyone who stayed faithful to the game and dedicates time into 1 or 2 toons.

Only people enjoying or fan-boying the patch are uber casuals or people who just came back and have 370 ilvl.

Reduce the gcd times back to legion status also please. The gcd change is like forcing me to slow my brain and reaction time down and it feels terrible.

That’s what I’m doing. Did the flight requirements while Wod, and Legion were current, but ya just don’t feel like fooling with the 8.2 zones at all. Will probably do the same as you though this time around. Just wait until next expansion to go finish BFA pathfinder. Believe it is more burnout than anything though. This rep gating stuff just gets old time after time. As of now just doing assaults, and warfronts stocking up on Draught of the ten lands potions lol. Could care less about chasing that higher item level gear anymore. Hopefully 360, 370 type stuff will be enough to get through the starter zones next expansion, because after the 12th of July times up, and taking a long hiatus from the game. Have 4 weeks of vacation time to burn, and that will help.

When they said they took the best of previous isle ideas I just don’t see it. On top of that benthic gear hardly drops from anything and the pearls don’t buy all that great of stuff so gearing alts is going to take friggin forever on top of spending pearls on upgraded gear for a main I just can’t even… I thought there would actually be a lot more story to burn through with the new races here ankoan/giants but you just take some follower around and do a few dailies that take HOURS because they’re all so screwed up.
-no world boss
-no jumping puzzles
-low loot drops
-daily quests take far too long
-trying to find called out spawns and dealing with cliffs sucks (I know it will be better with flight but still it’s just a pain in the azz atm)
-the story content has like one quest a day that takes five minutes
BRUH, it’s not fun for me. I’m trying, but it’s just not

Mechagon is pretty dope though  Thought it might be a little more mechanical of an island but it’s aight

I’m not even sure it can be classified as an alt catch up patch. I’m on my main, and I’ve seen little in the way of items that would be useful to any of my alts. Trash is till dropping 266 ilevel greens, the actual gear quests, that I’ve seen so far, only had a couple of items in them. There’s the trinket in Mechagon, but both it and Najatar seem to be pretty barren for gear drops that I’ve seen.

Kind of a strange thing to say about a game that now seems solely driven by ilevel and maxing out as quickly as possible to then enter Grind World.

Mechagon is actually kind of fun, there at least seems to be a little originality there.

Nazjatar on the other hand just flat out stinks. Literally its a score of 0 out of 10.

that too.

The GCD change does ZERO for anyone except the slow, low brain power people who can’t react fast enough. it went 14 years without needing a GCD change. revert it.
