I don’t care about funny names, weird names, gibberish… whatever.
But the things I’m seeing this round of classic that are just… nasty… I frankly wish I could avoid. I’m no child and I’m not a prude, but there are so many players who apparently believe that the only purpose of a name is to out-spew the next guy. It wasn’t a problem in 2020 because I was on the RP-PvP server and Grob tended to self-police (at least a little). This time, though… no so much.
I legitimately laugh at a lot of the ridiculous names that I see on Nightslayer. But the ones that involve bodily excretions just aren’t my cup of tea. Obviously, nothing is going to change… but I wish it would.
I suspect that “gross names” are a form of trolling, by people who find it funny to force other players to interact with nouns/concepts that will elicit a response of disgust.
In reality it’s probably a huge social disadvantage to label yourself or your character something that people actively desire to forget or distance from. These players probably have a harder time on average getting group invites, finding guilds, or even just establishing basic friendship connections with other players, and they might not even realize this is the case because they’re too preoccupied with “HA HA made you grossed out!”
No, that doesn’t bother me. I’m talking about a very select slice of names that are obscene. Crap that a comedian wouldn’t joke about - stuff that’s revolting.
Lmao get over yourself. I’ve never understood why hyper sensitive people partake in online gaming. Its just peoples names. They’re not going to hurt you. I’m being genuine, do yourself a favor and don’t let random strangers on the internet drive you crazy. Especially when they’re not even saying anything to you lol. I’ve been changing my mentality the past couple months and have just started letting things go and my happiness has increased tenfold. Then again, I don’t think people naming an online video game character a bad name is some horrific crime so it might be harder for you.
There is a stark difference between disliking distasteful names and being eaten up inside by these names that you seem to think haunt OP in their sleep or something.
I’d rather not see these names, I report them when I do, and I avoid people with these names for groups, and sometimes go out of my way to kill members of the opposite faction with these names.
None of this makes me ‘mentally weak’ or whatever crap you would call me, I just prefer to play with adults that don’t have the humour of an edgy preteen that spent too much time on the internet after not receiving love from their parents.

Every day on Grobb when I played there. I am not offended by non-RP names but I had no problem spending time effectively counter trolling the trolls by forcing name changes on them.
