I went to the hospital and they told me that I most likely have covid. I’m terrified. I don’t know what I did wrong. I wore a mask and stayed home. The only mistake I possibly made was leaving my room while my mom was having a party. I didn’t even stay for long (it was all old ladies saying hi to me).
Right now the symptoms I have are shortness of breath and I have trouble waking from sleep. When I do wake up it feels like I’m suffocating. It’s terrible. The nurse at the hospital said it will only get worse. I’m so scared. I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die.
Sorry, I know this isn’t related to WoW in any way, but I don’t have anyone or any social media and I needed to tell someone. Take care everyone…
You’ll be ok man, just take care of yourself. I know people who have had it. Currently have family fighting it. You will be alright, just stay positive.
If it makes you feel better, you can ask me questions about what it was like seeing a friend go through it. Its really not as bad as you think, and I’m sure you will be ok.
You could also have astmatic bronchitis. Either way, stop into an ER if you’re in the states STAT and get a chest x-ray. Hope they put you on anti-biotics if it is asthma and presrcibe you Advair and Albuterol.
MAKE SURE YOU GET A COVID TEST!
Now hop to it. Time is of the essence, please keep us updated on progress.
Thank you all. I’m trying to stay positive but it’s very difficult since I’m a “catastrophiser.”
Due to some insurance shenanigans I can’t go until 7-10 days. But if things get worse i might have to suck it up and pay for all my crap.
I’m not sure if you can answer this but did your friend have any trouble with their head? Did it go numb at any point? This is the symptom I’ve had that has most scared me. I thought I was gonna die right then and there.
Yeah, I went to the ER and they’re full. They did a chest x-ray and they just said I most likely have covid then they sent me home. Oh yeah they did a test but i dont get results until 3-4 days.
Go back and DEMAND inhalers. At the very least you can use that to curb the symptoms. I had what I think was covid last year but no one knew about it. Lots of bed rest, inhalers and water, gatorade, fluids/etc is what helped me. Maybe you, too.
If the ER won’t help…
Call your doctor and get prescriptions. If that is not an option…
Contact immediate care local to you.
Are you immune system comprimised or over 60? If not you’ll be fine its only a 2% mortality rate then. Just drink plenty fluids and get rest. My aunt has it and its about as bad as a flu. Stay calm and stay home and contact your doctor in the event you have breathing difficulty. Hope you get well asap.
You’ve gotten a lot of good advice from the folks in this thread already, so I hope you find something that works for you. I’ll be rooting for you, Champ. If you’re able to, keep us informed.
Sometimes just having another person to talk to can help ease our situations.
You’re not gonna die. But stress on the body makes things like this worse. Do your best to remain calm. Try to remain in the right head space. Panicking (while understandable) will only make your condition worse. Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of fluid.
It’s also worth remembering that the body responds to stress in the same way every time. Take me, for example. Any time I’m stressed, I get headaches. That doesn’t help in this situation. Staying calm and doing as your doctors tell you is the best way you’ll be able to get through this.
Thank you for the advice. They prescribed me an inhaler but unfortunatley all the pharmacies are closed right now. I really really want to rest but I feel worse in my sleep.
Thanks the rest of you too. I’m feeling a little better. Emotionally anyways.
Why even live if you’re in a lifetime of debt afterward? Don’t let an overly emotional state get you to make shortsighted decisions or hyperventilate yourself into asphyxiation.
I know it’s a bit odd to say this with breathing issues. But try and just take some slow deep breaths. If you can’t just do your best. It’s to help keep your heart from racing.
If you have an anxiety attack, try saying out loud the stuff you see around you. It helps ground you and gets you to work thru it
