you know, i bet they are even going to remove all the pathfinders as the classics are released.
since it seems that blizzard is over the war on flight, they’ll probably give flight to players on release for WoD, Legion, BFA, Shadowlands, Dragonflight classics.
Kind of a big leap to assume he wasn’t talking about the new 10 levels, which is actually relevant to the conversation. Unless there’s actually a full quote where he specifies the removal of earlier flight access.
I’ll be buying the game. I’m not a fan of dragonflight but that’s comparing it with other expansions. If I was to compare it with other games, dragonflight is WAY better and more enjoyable.
I wont be buying the early access either out of principal. Everyone should be starting on day one.
Let’s be honest, most people currently playing will purchase the next expansion. Some will quit for the first 3 months out of saltiness and grovel back for a late catch up.
I gave you a like because hey I respect that you are honest. But seriously don’t feel shame for buying a preorder if that’s what you wanted to do with your money.
Well that’s a theory. They also may have lost subscriptions because the game is old technology, newer games coming out, there are a list of reasons why they may have lost subscriptions.
And gaming magazines aer still saying WoW is one of the top five MMOs dispite being a 20 year old game in a completely new environment.
I’m not taking any leaps here. My comment was a reaction to a statement /news made by another player earlier in this very thread.
"In ion’s interview, he said traditional flying will be available for all characters when they reach max level (no additional achievements required).
What I don’t understand is how they justify timegating traditional flight until max level when you dragon ride in the new expansion immediately when you log in for the first time.
I’m not going to complain because at least I can level quick and get traditional flying.
It’s just really annoying that they are putting this restriction on traditional flying - the only reason for it is they are upset that not everyone likes dragon riding and want to be spiteful."
It’s very possible it is a technical problem. Maybe DF wasn’t built with the intention of normal flying, and thus that coded key isn’t active in the DF zones. Hell, they didn’t want flight to be a thing for WoD, but we’d grown accustomed to having it, and complained when it wasn’t there for us when we reached max level.
When we got flying mounts in TBC, we still couldn’t fly in the old world. Hell, we still can’t fly right now in the Blood Elf or Draenei starting zones.
If they didn’t lay the framework for regular flight in DF so they could focus on dragonriding, it’s possible it took some extra work to add normal flying back in. It’s the same reason we can’t do dragonriding literally anywhere other than the DF expansion zones. There is a technical limitation preventing it.
that wouldn’t explain the restriction in the new expansion (the war within), since they are announcing the expansion a year before its release…
they specifically stated that we get dragon riding on day one when we first enter the expansion in game…they also said we will get traditional flying when we reach max level…
what could possibly be the reason for them not allowing us to have traditional flying at the same moment we are given dragon riding in the new expact? (as i mentioned earlier, they annouced this restriction a year before the expansion’s release, so there should be no problems in coding or extra work for them…especially since the actualy coding in the game would allow us to traditionally fly on day one - if we grinded levels very fast and got level 80 on day one).
Honestly I have pre-ordered all expacs since TBC, but not this time, the last couple have made me change the way I see it, and I really don’t care if I am a few days behind, unless you are cutting edge it’s really not that much of an issue.
I paid for a month just recently to catch up, but once that expires I am back to no sub for the foreseeable future, waiting to see the proof before I commit again.
If I know for a fact that I’m going to buy a game at launch regardless of the reviews, then I might as well pre-order when I have some extra money available instead of waiting until the last minute
No matter how good or bad War Within is I absolutely WILL be playing at launch, even if it’s just for the story, because it’s WoW.
The game is still alive at this point because of quality of life improvements that got rid of some of the annoyances of gaming that was contemporary at the time of vanilla. The idea that one or no flight points and mailboxes per zone, one hour cooldown on hearths, and other time-wasting travel restrictions would not have held back growth of the game is your unsubstantiated theory. I suggest you walk to Desolace and then spend 20 minutes walking back and forth between the quest hub and quest objectives for 20 hours to jar your memory.
Id like to think that if you play wow you gonna play anyway and buy it, like what you gonna do wait a month for reviews on youtube and then buy it ? Then you gonna be behind everyone else
