I think tanks and healers should get of their high horses. It is getting riddiculous. Ppl playing tanks and hralers having some god complex or issues or why do they chose their roles? Youre basicaly moaning that you dont wanna do anything in keys, and god forbid if you do have to heal…its because monkey dps. Because ofc it is.
There are many many dog healers and tanks, and judging by this topic xoure definetly one of them. Loud toxic pointing at others. Checks all boxes.
We’ve seen the alternative which was shirking all that responsibility onto the healer. There were times in BFA and SL where I would have 8x the healing done in PUG keys than I did the same key at same level with premades that actually did the mechanics properly. Certainly some of this is to be expected based off the lack of coordination in a PUG, but it shouldn’t require eight times the amount of healing with the same key and affixes. Until abject failure of the mechanics results in a cost felt by those failing the mechanics, it’s always going to be viewed as exclusively the healer’s responsibility to undo the mistake.
This is fact. Im tanking this xpac. I cleared my first +7 last night with like 7 minutes left. Then join a group for another one.
DPS would blast CDs before i even grouped a pull. Would not focus my target when they did it and thus would get agro and then run all the way back to the entrance instead of to me. Then when i had a pack pointed at a wall for certain abilities and an idiot DPS stood next to me and got 1 hit. That DPS says in chat “can you turn that pack away from us?” I had them pointed at a wall, you chose to stand in front of them. Like wtf? Just because you top meters doesnt mean youre good at the game. I just logged mid key when he said that. I dont have patience for M+ this season.
As DPS in a group of three friends (heal, tank, DPS, but we swap roles sometimes), the DPS really do hate using their defensives. In the friend group, I’m helping heal and using defensives very often to the point my healer friend usually leaves me to heal me (because I do and I use defensives).
That’s just my experience and I don’t have enough this season, but in my times in m+, ya DPS hate defensives. How else do you beat the meter!?
Ofc you heal less. The dungeon mechanics are tuned to one shot everything.
That’s the reason there’s groups going without healers, they just made everything so punishing that the healer doesn’t make sense anymore. You either do the mechanic or die.
On DF S3, when the m+ was at its prime, the healers was mending group mistakes like failed interrupts and mechanics. It was like every group mistake the healer would trade a portion of mana to “buy” more time. It felt good because you were reacting to errors and dungeon mechanics. Now you just spam something for procs and throw stuff on players preemptively because they will be one shot any way.
M+ destroyed this season for the lower 80% players
Healing feels way too stressful. It’s like it was tuned for poopsockers.
And knowing that so many DPS are absolutely trash at the game, I have to deal with more stress on top of an already stressful situation. When I play my tank, I just tell the healer “good luck” and encourage the DPS to blow their load on a meatgrinder pull. My 595 Fury Warrior keeps up with some 610 Delve Heroes in +3’s.
This is usually because it’s taking longer to kill things. Bad or undergeared DPS will cause that. It’s not always because they aren’t kicking. Sometimes they’re just bad.
As much as I don’t think it’s healthy behavior to assign blame, any individual can absolutely be at fault for bricking a key. But, why focus on what other people are doing? You can’t control their actions, you can only control your own. Focusing on improving your own play, regardless of circumstance, is how you get better.
