I'm not buying the "meaningful choices line"

Decision making at the “fundamental level” is completely built around the possible outcomes. Trying to compare a video game decision like, say, not eating food where I only lose a buff to not eating in the outside world where I could potentially starve is beyond ludicrous.

At the same time its not in this case because there are parallels in the consequences AND the decision making process.

I dont know if you actually believe what you’re saying or not given I can’t see your main. You wouldn’t be arguing this if you actually were group leading at one point.

There isn’t…at all.

Da hell does that have to do with decision making in a video game and the outside world? Like, are you ok? Do you need someone to talk to?

Well that’s just your opinion, a wrong opinion since it borders on the facts.

Yeah I’m talking to you.

How is thinking in numerical is minmaxing or mythic thinking? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s actually a correct opinion because of said facts.

Well I’m glad I can help in your time of need.

The facts are that the real world and WoW are similar and can be compared in a lot of ways.

Only honing in on the non comparable ways to suit your narrative and then asserting your narrative as fact doesn’t make it fact.

Yeah, no, they are not, sorry. The fact that you would believe this line is troubling to say the least.

It’s not my narrative, it’s just a fact lol.

Stop comparing REAL LIFE to a videogame

Humans built that world, to say there is no similarity at all is absurd.

No, it’s not absurd at all lol.

Shoot, there are even humans in WoW as a playable race.

That’s the first similarity to the real world.

I mean you are trying, I’ll give you that. Once again though, it’s troublesome for you to believe that WoW is in any way similar to the outside world, sorry.

Shadowlands looks very regressive for specs and alts. Blizz has painted themselves in a corner. :100:

Just because you stink at playing a rogue doesn’t mean we all sink, Alex.

So no contention that there is a similarity between WoW and real life is the Human race?

Do you really want to walk this path again?

There are also elves. Seen a lot of them running around town?

The path where you display your declining mental health? I mean not really but if you insist.

Not even just real life, something deliberately done to make money rather than for fun. When it comes to making a living, there is a kind of expectation that you will sacrifice personal enjoyment and friendship with co-workers in pursuit of the work. That’s the job. Recreation is a totally different thing.

The fact that people want to treat WoW like a job is a huge fail. Blizzard should never, EVER design the game to accommodate playing WoW like a job. I’m sticking with my rocket car analogy - you design the roads for people who use the roads for their intended purpose - people driving where they need to go to do the things they need to do. You don’t design the roads around the professional rocket car drivers who want to race at 500 MPH. You can argue “there’s a natural desire to go faster” or “they shouldn’t have designed so many straightaways if they didn’t want people to think driving rocket cars on the road was correct” but the roads are meant for their intended usage for the majority of people. We aren’t going to destroy the shopping mall so that the straightaway can continue in that direction.

That’s irrelevant, there are humans in both worlds, that’s a similarity. Do you agree with that? If you dont, your mental capabilities are worse than mine.

Nerd rage.

The topic is about meaningful choices not how y’all sink.

Back to the topic at hand! Shadowlands lacks player agency and I am inclined to agree.
