I'm not able to renew my subscription to WoW

I’m having an issue to the point where I pay for it, and it says the transaction went through but nothing happens. It still says my account is inactive and even logging out and logging back in doesn’t fix it.

I’ve done this multiple times now, and I’m afraid that it might charge me multiple times even though I’ve waited for about an hour or two between each transaction and nothing happens. What gives?!

What does it show right now under your subscription page:

Usually adding a sub will make the account active almost immediately. So it’s possible that something is blocking it.

Another thing to check is that you’re logging into the right account, the one you just added a subscription to. Double check that it’s the right one in the launcher.

It is logged into the correct one and it continues to say inactive even though I have enough funds in my paypal account and everything. It doesn’t show a single issue whenever I pay it, but as soon as it finishes the payment and gives the thank you page, I go back to my account and nothing happens.

If it’s showing as inactive still, then something isn’t going through. Tough to say if it’s the site, or the payment or something in-between paypal and blizz.

Instead of a subscription, try just a block of game time:

Maybe you’ll have more success with that.

From what I can see, Tanarilei, these attempts seem to be failing. I don’t see the exact reason but it looks like you are attempting to use Paypal. Can you doublecheck what you are using with them and make sure that the card is valid and active, double check the card number, expiration and CVV, etc…

I’d also agree with Perl, if you continue to have an issue setting up a subscription at the moment, you might try purchasing a Game Time code from the shop.

I tried to pay for game time and that showed me that there was an issue authorizing the payment and I’m not sure how to fix that.

Are you still trying to use PayPal? If so, did you try the troubleshooting tips that Vrak posted?

It’s possible that the card linked to your PayPal account has expired.

Alternatively, you can try a different payment method.

I’m having the same issue.
Tried 3 different payment methods including PayPal.
Paypal seems to be the only one that goes through and says it was purchased and then when I try to log in it says I need subscription game time.

In that case, it could be that something on your system is blocking the purchases too. Try temporarily disabling anti-virus and/or any security software to see if that helps.

Another possibility is that your bank may be blocking the purchases.

Just to be clear, are you also trying to setup a subscription Whack? Do you have the same outcome if you follow my link above and just purchase a block of game time?

Finally went through after I switched to using just a visa card. Thank the gosh darn lord.

Makes me wonder if there’s currently an issue with PayPal?!? In any event, I’m glad you were both able to get game time added :slight_smile:

I’m having the same problem, except I’m using my debit card, which has been my default for years, and I’ve had a monthly automatic renewal for years. Only recently it started canceling my subscription on its own, and today I can’t even renew. It says it went through but it’s not showing up and it keeps offering the option to use in game gold, which I don’t want to do. I want to pre-order Dragonflight, but if I can’t even renew my subscription, what’s the point?

Please start a new thread this is well over 3yrs old and they were using a different payment method.

Darth is right, it’s bad form to necro threads, especially those that are three years dead.

That aside, try removing all of your forms of payment and then re-adding the card you wish to use.

Or rather, what is it showing when you go here? Is it showing your transaction at all?

You may also need to contact your bank and make sure that they’re not blocking the purchase(s) for any reason.

Is current now, or was current then? I only ask because there is a two-month gap between the question and the answer.

I have the same issue. One month auto renew on my card for 6 years. First payment in 2024 and it failed. The problem is not on my end but if I put in a ticket I just get the same regurgitated information that it’s treated like I did something wrong. I took out all information and now when I put my info in again, it just comes up saying " an error has occurred ".
