I'm just going to say it. Mythic+ is and at its core, fundamentally a mistake, and anti WoW

without aid of m+, doubt.

Running out of time is something guilds face. And real life emergencies cutting into raid time even more.

Brewa, still waiting you to say “Yes you were right”. Checked already the ilvl of RWF?

The answer was 625, and I already discussed the implications in a post above.

And max Hero gear 6/6 is 626, so as said. It is not mandatory. On a normal guild (not even RWF one) Without doing M+ content, by the moment you get to Myth Ansurek you gonna be geared enough by far.

Cause main problem at certain point is lack of hands, not lack of gear.

See above regarding raid comps.

Nah i bet they could. Of course not every CE guild will make the cut off for sure, but if the average CE guild just strictly raided, id bet the average ilvl would be somewhere near 630 by end of season, which is about where HoF ends isnt it?

But those people would likely need 636- 639? heh.

It’s also crests that’s lacking.

But they did it without being that high?

Right. You dont have to be max mythic gear to beat mythic raid though. So it should still be doable getting 630+ doing nothing but raiding and acquiring CE that way

Have you seen the KSM mount for S2? I don’t think they want us to do Mythic+ anymore.

I mean CE world last should be around that high?

The unknown is if those people have skill to do it with less (or time.)

I dont like M+ or the sweaty neckbeards so I RP on retail and play Classic for the social vibes. There is options for everybody.

Exaclty thats whats so awesome about this game it has content for everyone

All of the things you describe in a negative light such as optimizing gameplay, not “messing around” or “spacing out”, and being rewarded for playing in a certain way are the natural result of you the player becoming better at the game. You have learned how to play WoW very efficiently and effectively and as a result you have stopped having fun because you are no longer able to overlook the value of less optimized ways of playing.

You say you want to just hang out, take your time, make friends but there’s a part of you constantly nagging at you. “Why would I play in those ways?”, you ask yourself, those don’t get me as many concrete rewards as other ways. You are actively choosing to have less fun but you don’t realize it.

It’s a topic that’s been studied in game design for decades at this point and written about at length. I can recommend to you the book A Theory of Fun For Game Design by Raph Koster (designer of Ultima Online, Everquest, Star Wars Galaxies) or the essays of Dan Olsen but at the end of the day it’s going to come down to you to find fun in the game.

Blizzard can only guide you so much. If they took off the timer and you got all of your BiS gear you’d still be empty inside. You’re going to say “what’s next? Blizzard, where is my content?!” The magic is gone from the game because you are no longer putting it there personally. You’re not having fun because you forgot how. You grew up and stopped day dreaming. You stopped making friends with similar interests. You don’t allow yourself to chill out. You overcame your sense of wonder at the world and are poorer for it.

Only one receives massively inflated welfare gear for ridiculously easy gameplay and is infinitely repeatable, though, and that’s M+.

If Blizzard would stop designing the rest of the game around M+ in terms of tuning, or make M+ actually appropriate challenge for its rewards instead of being WoW’s equivalent of Candyland, people wouldn’t despise it so much.

Forced to play Candyland with mentally ill degens is a good way to find a new game.

Just make untimed hard modes that reward up to hero track and give myth vaults.

If they remove the timer they have nothing over any other games dungeons. Nothing.

Mythic raid bosses 1-4!

Sure, if you want to do 5-man dungeons on par with, say, Mythic Ovinax or Kyveza.

I think the howls of protest would be pretty deafening, though.

Glad to see people are still crying about M+ almost a decade later. Not missing anything.
