Theirs some common denomenantor folks who think its too hard and respeccing should be easier. Same as WoW 2005.

You could appease everybody by fixing the pillars so that Key Pushers going for +20 are rewarded properly while delves have higher reward tiers and Mythic raiding should be the drop off point.

But retails game design is crap when it comes to pillar drop offs.

If key pushers at 20 are rewarded properly. the lesser skilled will be complaining to no end. It’s mutually exclusive.

I don’t know of any game that has kept remotely the same player base since launch.

We saw that this week, with the announcement that once you hit a certain score, your keys won’t deplete lower than 12 if you fail the time.

Which is a GREAT system. Thumbs-up for that.

The whole reason that keys deplete is so that you can’t tag along for a 10 with somebody, then farm that 10 to oblivion in 3-hour-past-the-timer runs for infinite free loot. People at high ratings doing 12’s aren’t in that category. (In fact, if it’s loot you’re after, 12’s are a bad use of time.)

And what was the reaction on the forums?

People doing low keys screaming “why can’t we have this, too!?!?”

RN Delves are pretty irrelevant if youre an AOTC raider who doesnt enjoy M+

Most of my friend group only does M+ because they feel forced too for gear progression.

People who actually enjoy or have static groups for M+ should be rewarded for pushing harder, but others who prefer raiding shouldnt be forced to go through Mythic for crest aquisition.

There should be better avenues that arent so controversial and divding.

Nobody deserves to deal with the mental asylum that is the M+ pug scene.

It’s an anti-boredom mechanic which I think is placed too low. But don’t think it’s an issue that it exists.

Probably more of an issue if people take alts they don’t know how to play in 10s and repeatedly fail. (If it works that way.)

But at least, 2850 “should” have enough transferrable skills to render 10s trivial? heh.

Then delves should have some real difficulty to them. But the community freaked out when there was a modicum of threat in delves at launch, so that’s running into issues. Delves already are farmable for hero track gear, myth track at the current level? Nonsensical.

M+ being bad is nothing new. Just play SoD or anniversary realms.

In Season of Discovery they seem to be testing a loot system where you can increase the difficulty of raids (their only end-game content) to get more loot rather than better loot. They let people gear faster if they can handle higher difficulty rather than having several tiers of the same gear.

That’s an interesting concept. Usually the developers are afraid of letting you gear too quickly because they want to try to keep you around longer. SoD seems to retain players just as well if not better than retail despite letting you gear faster potentially.

Maybe letting more people finish the gear grind per season even at wider varieties of skill isn’t as scary of a thing as people think it is? More people probably finished the gear grind in DF S1 than TWW S1. It was faster and easier but also more enjoyable for a wider audience.

But then I’d play someone worse than m+.
