i was expecting a lot from classic since it will end up with bc and wotlk being released this would have been a great thing but…

i left when blizzard released cata
i stayed on private servers for bc and wotlk because they re great expansion compared to all the junk that blizzard released over the years.

with classic being released I saw an opportunity to have a blast again but only got disappointment on disappointment.

abuse of layers, playing single player for the few hours I can play hoping to be able to kill a quest target before 30 other single players get it. no groups for dungeon quests or grind to change the scenery, elitism in low-level instances, constantly being ganked by players 15-20 levels above me while I read world chat about players boasting on how strong they are in PVP but are too afraid to go up against players of their own level.
auction house being broken as hell due to layering abuse.

as much as I have pushed my patience… the classic experience pretty much died 10 years ago. I hope you guys have fun but I doubt I will be coming back to wow anytime. I also took care of erasing my chars on classic and on retail for good measure. R.I.P blizzard you should have died a decade ago.

I have to say my experience has been completely opposite to what the OP described. Maybe just a bad experience or horrible luck??

Don’t apologize. if you can’t hack it. If you can’t find friends among the hundred of characters you can see daily… I guess you’re not social enough. That’s ok.

I am sorry that this has been your experience, but perhaps there are other reasons other than current Classic (i.e. Realm, etc.)

I for one have had an amazing time.

The number of people helping and working together to complete goals has been mind-blowing.

In fact, I will go so far, risking dramaticism, that WoW Classic has made me second-guess how bad I thought most people and the world were.

But you know Classic will be here waiting for you.
Now private servers, let me list a few things.

  1. This is the biggest of all. Its called wintrade. Bet you like that right.
  2. This one is a must. They are called bots. Must have bots so players do not have to farm.
  3. How about the Auction House. You go to buy a low level item. You see what you want, but your main toon a level 15. You don’t have 10 gold for that green level 10 chest piece.
  4. Ganking happens all the time. If your lucky your fraction is the side ganking. Again this comes with wintrading.
    These are what I saw on private servers and there is more.
    Enjoy your wintrading sir.
    I will wait for Blizzard to fix. I know they will fix it right not half donkey a fix like the private servers.

The pvp and layering situation sucks but I don’t think there’s much if any way of changing that, but I feel your pain.

Grouping can be a mixed bag ranging from getting some enjoyable alone time in a place that’s not quite swamped to grouping up for some brief, friendly banter knocking out a few quests with super helpful people to FFA “bugger off” solo play from anyone with a care about other players.

Thankfully I’m able to have a bit more freedom in when I get to play, but yeah, I feel bad for those who can’t get a group going in quests areas that are taking 3-4 times as long to do because everything is instantly looted or killed with everyone going solo.

Must be a problem with the user rather than the world. But whatever either way it’s just not for you and many others. At least ya tried, and all!
