The timer just makes the consequences bigger, or more obvious. But the game was not specifically designed to be slow, or fast, dungeons were just there and Blizz let people run them as they see fit. But just like any game, people naturally enjoy trying to get better and more efficient, this means reduce the amount of mistake, go faster, be better. The M+ system just anchors itself on those principles, for people who enjoyed that. The system didn’t introduce anything that didn’t naturally exist before, trying to go fast is not new at all.
Some time with a mental health professional would probably help you out. While you may feel like the only person to ever get bullied or picked last you arent and honestly realizing you are less of a victim than you think could probably really help you out in day to day life. Its sometimes hard to figure that out on your own so see a professional.
This is the harshest truth of them all. While there have always been jerks in this game, I feel like it is 100x worse now than it was back in TBC. Now we have League of Legend and CoD players flooding in and bringing their FPS behaviors with them. I don’t care if you @ me. LoL players are toxic and anyone who disagrees is probably one of them.
There was a time when we actually talked to each other, helped one another. Like if you needed one more person at a Summoning Stone (before they became meeting stones) you could invite that person, they would help you summon some help, and then drop group. Nothing in it for them but to be helpful.
I wish you well OP!
Yup…pretty much spot on.
It’s definitely gotten more toxic because now the real problem is rewards are tied to a timer and things are taken away. If rewards were more flexible on the timer and more forgiving that would be less problematic. Back then running more dungeons per day meant more rewards over time, today you cap all your rewards in one day because of gating so the idea of just running more dungeons per day doesn’t matter anymore, so just going faster to do more is less impactful, so we run faster to get more rewards per run, probably not a good idea in the long run.
Yea exactly…so…it’s a race now as before it never was. You are kinda agreeing with me here.
i didnt read it either, what is op talking about
As do I, along with a few other “conditions”. I get it and I feel for you.
I mostly do solo stuff, and some LFR/LFG out of avoidance of others. Most of my experiences w/ other players have not been unpleasant. If I’m in a group I just go with the flow. This is where I find my balance.
However I’ve been known to on occasion go full nuclear on some person that will treat another player like dirt in LFR or w/e.
It’s 4 o’clock…I just opened a beer and my pool table is lonely. If you are reading these op…I truly wish you well. Honestly something about your post just sort of hits home. I feel bad that a videogame can make people feel this way. It’s a shame it really is. Truly…it’s not a big deal. Life has a lot of stuff in it …you’ll be good…
Which makes it a great thing we can gear in delves now…though I dont see why the same can apply to follower dungeons as much.
Players want to act like juveniles, We can run instanced content without them now…and listen to them whine when the queue times are quadrupled because everyone is tired of pug players.
Someone’s being vulnerable about their mental health problems and WoW players want their gold lmao.
Not surprised at all.
I haven’t been in a PUG since 2007 when someone left us due to they didn’t like how the healer was healing…I’ve been solo ever since and I don’t do Guilds either…
I decided a long time ago I did not want to be in a hurry, or stressed, or upset while playing WoW. If a situation seems to trigger these emotions, I stop and think whether it’s worth it to me. The game can be played in many ways, and it can be very relaxing.
I understand it triggered a deep and old pain, those are the hardest. And maybe it’s better to leave, play something more calm and uplifting with friends. If you do decide to continue, or return later, I’d suggest to hunt down a good guild or community with likeminded people.
Much peace and happiness.
Theres a video I saw a year or so ago.
A body in the street. Dont know where. dont know if its a dead body or not.
Some guy comes up and searchs the victims pockets for crap to steal.
Thats humanity for you these days.
Exactly what i did.
anything that irritates me gets dropped immediately.
Id rather farm ghost iron ore for 3 hours than touch M+.
takes a sip of oil tea<
Imma just kick back in this Delve and enjoy having no drama.
Okay.
Hello! I can completely understand your frustration. I run a guild that is built around avoiding this kind of toxicity by doing a lot of guild grouping. Unfortunately I see you are not a dwarf which is also part of our requirements. However, I still would like to provide you with a link to our guild recruitment post for if you decide to play a dwarf or earthen character.
Best of luck,
King Torgmir Ironbreaker.
