You’re not alone man. Lots of people are feeling this way lately. I’ve unsubbed partly because of what is written here. Everyone I know who has played isn’t. And probably won’t. The game has indeed changed because of the playerbase primarily. I can deal with almost everything else but when you combine the grind with the people doing the grind. Nah. Blizzard will eventually look up and realize this is actually a real problem with the game. Hopefully sooner than later. They designed a system that basically invalidates anyone not in bleeding edge content and because of that it’s a race…if you slow these current players down even one millionth of a second it’s license to full on act like a bunch of 4 year olds. Anyways…maybe see you in the next expansion. I recently took up playing pool…some of the nicest and weirdest most inclusive people I’ve ever met in my life are at the pool hall…hope you feel better dude.
They are probably on other mmo’s. Those patient people moved on.
Did OP mention what they’re gonna do with their gold?
Probably she will toss it in the Orgrimmar dumpster for the dumpster diver goblins.
why not just type this into a notepad document, then?
Didnt read. Way too much text
Thanks for coming on a forum to not read. Glad you took the time to let everyone know as well.
I do.
Your rant sounds like something I’d type when I feel sad. Sorry.
Hopefully venting your frustrations helped a little.
As the gnomey dragon says…
Good luck on your next adventure!
Rube wasted everyone’s time. Selfish!
For most people this sentence means clearing heroic raid in one go without wiping at this point in the season. Progression was 2 months ago.
I know OP won’t reply, but for other people who have the same mentality please explain this to me: why does it always sound like your way of having fun is dying and failing? Why is “let’s just have fun” never “let’s beat this easy content everyone should have done many times already?” Why is “it’s just a game” always “it doesn’t matter if we die 5 times on every boss” and never “it’s not fun to die constantly in any games so let’s just be good instead of being happy to suck”?
Can’t you just not do heroics?
I guess that’s okay.
Perfectly said … Should be about enjoying the game and the company of others…not sprinting through it to rage. It been built into this. Hopefully it goes back to going slower and appreciating each other just cause that’s humane and always a better time than stressing.
I get enjoying each other’s company, but that’s something in discord, making jokes and whatever. That doesn’t exist with pugs. I do find satisfaction and joy when a pug run goes well, the dungeon is over, I go over some stuff in details, and think to myself “I want more of this”. In comparison, a run that goes badly, even if we time it, when it’s over I think “finally I’m out of this mess”. I don’t have the same fun at all. I find fun in things well done, I don’t have fun just pressing buttons for the sake of pressing buttons, otherwise I would be slapping dummies in town all day why would I bother with dungeons if running them poorly would provide the same fun as literally anything else in the game?
Sorry about your struggles. My good friend tried for many years to get his wife to play… she finally did and leveled a classic era mage all the way to 60. She ran a few dungeons with us after hitting 60, but one time a pugger just started laying into her for doing bad dps and not knowing her rotation. That was the end of that, and she quit the game. Many people are just jerks and you have to have a thick skin or you will not be able to stick it out. It’s not really a problem that has a solution because people are who they are.
But what does “running them poorly” mean? This game was never…or never used to be about perfection. It’s turned into that. We used to talk to each other and say stuff like “hey the reason you died is so and so…let’s try this instead”… Now it’s…omg you missed your interrupt!! Votekick immediately!! It’s going the wrong direction at breakneck speeds. If not …these posts wouldn’t be littering the forum.
Incorrect, running dungeons fast to get more out of your time was something people had been doing since vanilla, it was not introduced in the game because of M+. The M+ timer design is based on the habit people had of speed running dungeons, skipping unnecessary packs and making big pulls to go faster.
Everything you see in M+ today existed in vanilla dungeon running, maybe you didn,t experience it, but it 100% existed.
I guess we just had vastly different experiences in the past. Tonsay the Playstyle of today is the same as it was even a few years ago is kinda wild to me. Shrugs. I get that skipping and going fast has been around for awhile but the toxicity is indeed at an all time high …you definitely used to be able to engage in conversation with people not too too long ago.
Don’t let rando players take your game away.
Why would you give people that much power?
That’s just bonkers to me.
Leave pugging to the hard heads, how about you work on getting you some gamer buddies instead?
