For me the reset games are almost all single player RPGs or like Call of Duty campaigns
Not the toxic multiplayer stuff. Old Final fantasy. Zelda games. TES. Fallout. Tons of steam games like Magicka. 8 bit adventure

I hate when someone asks for suggestions then shoots stuff down but they never gave us any hints at what they like.
But if you’re looking for an RPG, I suggest Wasteland 3. That game is basically the spiritual successor to Fallout Van Buren, the cancelled Fallout 3 that never got released because they sold out to Bethesda. It plays like Fallout and has actual dark humor and good writing.
check on steam since the autumn sale is up.
ill add this to the hat incase you want something cheap, quickplay thats turn ur brain off
also there is bg3 ofc
download nethack on your phone
Crusader Kings 3. It’s a completely different genre. Think D&D but as medieval rulers and grand strategy mixed in.
I’d recommend at least one playthrough of D4. The story and gameplay are really good. I never did anything with the game after finishing the first story and I felt like I got my money’s worth.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is always a solid choice if somehow you never played it. But it’s great for repeat plays as well.
Steam has a lot of great indie games as well.
Still one of my all time favorite games. I had years of progression on xb1, and because I couldn’t carry my account over to PC, I lost my wind. I tried to go through the grind again, but when they removed the cp cap it was a lost cause.
Valheim. I have over 750 hours into that game. Best $10 I’ve ever spent on a game.
It’s more about casting a wide net to see what comes up.
I felt being overly specific would lead to a very narrow list of responses. To that end, I’m seeing some unexpected suggestions that are catching my interest. I feel it’s working as intended.
Definitely played it… still have to finish it, got stuck in early Act 3.
Laptop not being able to handle the City didn’t help.
And damn, it’s HARD to choose what to stick with.
If I knew the answer Id be playing that…
Path of exile 2 looks amazing h
Time for someone to post a gigantic F U list of random af games.
Sorry, I forget not everyone gets 80 degree winter days like Hawaii.
Yeah, don’t go outside when it’s cold! I can’t, for sure. 70 is too cold. =P
Good to hear you have some hobbies. But then you can treat WoW like the hobby it is and just play occasionally. No one will care or think less of you.
Have a good life!
I like playing a lot of indie games because that seems to be where the quality is at these days, so my recommendations would be:
-Subnautica (and Subnautica Below Zero) – AMAZING game with Subnautica 2 expected for early access in 2025; survival horror in ocean setting; singleplayer only though Sub2 is supposed to support 4 players
-In Sound Mind – Psychological horror; little late for Halloween, but still; great story; singleplayer only; sorta survival-ish
-Grounded – Like Honey I Shrunk the Kids from the late 80’s; supports 4 players but can be played solo; challenging boss fights; backyard survival
-ARK Survival Ascended – Like jurassic park, but only if your PC can handle it, and even then, save often; survival with boss fights, environments vary based on map selected; multiplayer or singleplayer; not balanced for one player on default settings, but can be heavily customized to change that
-Raft – For some really peaceful but surprisingly challenging gameplay; survival, ocean setting; multiplayer or singleplayer
-Valheim – Based on Norse mythology, survival game with boss fights in which you, a fallen Viking, must redeem yourself; technically still in development, so the actual ending to the game hasn’t been implemented yet; singleplayer or multiplayer. Better with mods, but vanilla is still a decent experience.
I love all of those games, all for different reasons. Try them all out if you want. It’s still Black Friday, so it’s a great time to look for sales on Steam.
watch K-dramas LOL
and sing APT APT APT APT
trust me it’s a mindless brainless song but it makes me happppppyyyyyyy
Three words: Balder’s Gate 3.
I usually dust off old SimCity or Age of Empires games when I need a break. Sometimes TTDX.
Have to convert here… but yeah, currently about -15F with windchill.
Hobbies in general are a good thing to have, it’s definitely a good way to de-stress and relax.
I’m generally not a player of horror games, but I will admit Subnautica has fascinated me. Single-player would be my preference for the moment as well, so I’d probably look at the more current stuff.
I will not deny the convenience of the timing.
The horror element isn’t the traditional horror. It’s more because some creatures are… hm… not peaceful and somewhat… interesting to encounter. I don’t want to spoiler it any further than that.
As for singleplayer vs multiplayer, all games I listed are fully capable of being played singleplayer. Those that support multiplayer are generally still well balanced for singleplayer, and some have custom settings so that you can cater it to what you want to experience. If you did ARK, tho, I’d definitely suggest finding a youtube video that helps change the settings for a singleplayer experience; the defaults are BRUTAL and not intended for one person.
I also edited my original list to add another game and change formatting. I kept finding things to add/change. xD
