I'm confused

So to play bc classic with a char I made on normal wow classic I have to pay $35? I assumed it would be like the original release back in the day. On release day you update your client to burning crusade, log in, crash fifty seven times or so, and run said 60 through the portal. I see Bellular and hasbeen gold complaining about it all over youtube. Every forum with wow in it complaining you have to pay to use your old character. I plan to remake Ali here so it won’t affect me as much, but it seemed odd.

No. When the pre-patch is released, all realms will become bc classic realms and Blizz will make a snapshot of all your toons. When you log into each toon, you will have to choose between continuing into bc classic OR staying with vanilla classic. You only pay $35 to create a clone of your toon on the server type you didn’t choose.

For example, I have a lvl 60 Holy Priest on Deviate Delight. On May 18th, I will choose to have her stay on the progression bc classic server. Sometime later, I decide I want to play her on the Classic era servers that don’t progress to bc classic. So I pay $35 to activate my toon’s clone on that server.

Ok I see, so it basically is just like the when the old expansions were released save you are given a choice to go into the new game or stay in the old. You only have to pay if you want to play on a original classic server AND bc with the same char. I had a lot of fun in bc, so much I kept the char from then til now, though I do miss my original night elf priestess from the first week of original. Was going to remake her, but if bc is out in a week or so I don’t see the point.

Only, if you want to have that character be “active” in BOTH BC AND Classic. Otherwise, if you want to forget about Classic but play BC, that transition is free.

I think Blizzard needs to make a video showing how its going to work. An alarming amount of people don’t understand the process.

Or, I can explain it, since it’s a Feature I’ve invested a lot of interest into it. And, you know how well I explain things :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

No. It’s free. When they split into TBC and CE, you can choose. It’s free to choose TBC. It’s free to choose CE.

The clone fee only happens if you want to play TWO characters in TWO games. Why do you want to do that?

A video can’t even help the people. It says "CLONE" What the hell do these people think a clone is cause apparently they got NO idea what the word means.

People on the forums are reactionary by nature. They see something and react without doing any research on their own. They wear their emotions on their sleeves.

The free version is the way the game has always worked, a new expansion comes out and changes the world of warcraft forever, even if you don’t buy the expansion the talents, patch notes, itemization irreparably changes the world both old and new.

The paid clone is so you have 1 twin go and experience tbc, and the other twin is stuck in the twilight zone of it always being May 17th 2021
