I'm bored with Dragonflight. And WoW in general

And what game would this be, Kiwi?

Can you guess? Here is a hint!

@ Devonellah I’m unsure if your response was for me but I’m uninterested in mythic + and raiding. When I was subbed to the game, I casually pvp’d.

This comment stuck out to me

Idk what your problem is, but you seem negative which is nothing new coming from this community. Just another person wanting to start drama. Thanks for being added to my ignored list.

FYI I play wow for myself not anyone else. I don’t have to find alternatives to keep playing this game if I find it boring. . I’m prob responding to a child for all I know.

Ngl I am to , at least until ret rework I don’t feel like playing. So I’m jus taking a break.

Ah is that FF? I may give that another whirl sometime.

It is OK to move on, play other things, find other hobbies. WoW will still be here if you ever want to come back. It’s definitely OK to take breaks.

I’m taking a permanent break. It’s not just WoW. All MMOs are a massive waste of time and boring.

Time to move into 2023 and play games where you can actually build stuff and be creative lol.

One more week of zero upgrades from the vault and I’m headed back to FFXIV. I gave my time in WoW this time around a fair chance. I would come back each expac to play M+ for a bit because I’ll admit it’s a great system FF does not have.

That said I told myself I would give mythic raiding a solid go this time around. It’s horrible. Both mechanically boring and requires way too much time and work just to get a token to pull a slot machine lever twice a week. Once in the raid and once from the vault. Or worse filling out your 20s row and getting 421 chest in all of them when you got the same the week before and are currently wearing it.

I know FF is not everyone’s cup of tea but if you like Raiding and don’t care for M+ all the time it’s a much better experience. Fun fights with mechanical depth. Ultimates for in between raid tiers and finite gearing loops. Kill every boss in the tier 8 times and your full group should be bis between gear drops, tome gear, and book drops which can be traded for raid gear. It rewards your skill of completing the fight instead of just handing you a slot machine token and saying pray to RNGsus. With an easy on ramp. If you miss a tier you just got buy the crafted gear that comes out with every tier and slam 5 materia (gems) into it and boom your ready for Savage. No fomo. No RNG gated grind to step into the difficulty you want to do.

Yes it is. I’m sitting in the living room of my house. Well, it is more of a lounge because I ended up building a bar instead of a actual home. Just one of the many things I have enjoyed over there.

I just think there are too many systems to keep up with.

Bombarded left, right, and centre by things. None of them are particularly fun but I’m missing out on significant chunks of the game if I don’t do them. Or missing out on gear and transmog.

I log in walk around for a bit, realise I can’t remember how to do half the things I’ve started and log out.

Then play something else.

I’m pretty sure that comment was for me.

I never really read the forums, but I just had to see how much of the WoW population feels the same as I do regarding the state of this game. I have been disappointed in the direction of the game for a long time. I would like to share some reasons as to why I may not be gaining the same enjoyment as I once had for the game and maybe it will hold true with some of you and with some hope, bring about change so we can have an enjoyable experience again.

This first issue is a big one for me and ties into a lot of other issues I have. Somewhere along the line we went from needing to use a bit of thought and strategy, to mindlessly pressing keys. Every encounter, out of the hundreds you have through your daily quests are exactly the same. You have a rotation of abilities that feel almost mandatory (another issue I will elaborate on). I never feel like I’m going to lose an encounter and rarely do I ever even come close. Its boredom for me. I want to feel like I’ve gotten myself in to deep. I want to retreat. I want to make a new plan of attack. I want to manage my mana and eat food… Not like classic but maybe a middle ground. I want a challenge! Breezing through everything is not exciting, it’s not challenging and in turn is not stimulating which leads me to boredom. This may be my overall cause to the loss of interest in this game.

Hell…I don’t even know why I’m collecting gold anymore. There is almost nothing essential that I can’t afford. I want to struggle with my funding again! It all makes for a healthy sense of accomplishment. I feel none of this anymore.

I would love to see crowd control back in this game. Somewhere along the line it turned into a mindless mob herd and burn game that just isn’t appealing to me. Give us mobs that fear or freeze or aggro to healers again. Mobs that must be locked down or dealt with first. Make us think again and use strategy.

I don’t want to see a personal DPS score or healing score, I’d rather see a personal efficiency score.
If you have Class specs that doesn’t keep up to par with others, then they just buff its damage and its all better. This seems ridiculous to me when thought about. It makes me feel like I have no control to make a unique spec that fits me. Almost as if I’m forced to play to the likes of the buffed spell, by a higher power, in order to stay relevant. If you make crowd control a tool again, you open a whole other dimension to the game. You would spec for the efficiency that suits you, instead of some mandatory DPS spec that some talent tree micro manager meticulously dissected and posted about in his YouTube video. Now there are 1000 people just like you running around.

And maybe we could use the entire world! We have an entirely huge expansive world and I’m only ever roaming a fraction of it. Have your expansion elaborate on the new continent but take me far and wide. Give me a truly difficult puzzle adventure that take me on a world tour, that gives me truly rare rewards. They could come around annually, a different one or ten every month or something. To give players a sense of individual accomplishment and bragging rights. You could turn entire zones into PvP areas… Take a percentage of the continents zones in order to siege a capital. I’m just throwing ideas out here. But it seems they are just letting this game go and die and maybe they are because it seems like they aren’t even trying any more. It’s a shame.

Sorry for the rant. Don’t beat me up too bad. Just another opinion from another unsuber.

Yep. I’m way ahead of you. Cancelled my account a couple weeks ago and exploring other entertainment options.

I don’t feel burned out, however, I do feel like I’m playing less.

WoW is still a better value than Apple TV+

Yep! I am about due for a break that is what you need to do. I have gotten tired of running certain raids over and over and over again for items that used to drop, but have had drop chances changed by Blizzard to make the grind longer. Not talking mounts either I am talking transmog items that seem to never drop ever. I remember players raiding would see all items eventually, but now all of a sudden they seem to never drop anymore. I have been going after the Black Temple/Hyjal set for my Druid for months now and the shoulders and helmet never drop.

Why not jump to another game? It dosen’t have to be an MMO, my brother plays single player games when he gets burn out… just do something else until WoW adds something that gets you interested again.

At least that what I do… or am doing at the moment lol. Also the forums are such a treat sometimes to just kill time and have a laugh here an then! At least until sub runs out…

That’s exactly what they tell you to do when you unsub: to go to the forums.

I mean its not the end the of world… im sure theres other things you can do

Lost most reason to want to raid and having to go to 17 or 20 keys is just a slog I just don’t care anymore about it. Having much more fun playing VR with family.

Or Netflix… Lol
