I got my first Corrupt item, RNG Gods gave me a DPS proc, why? I’m a Healer, i want gear and effects that benefit my healing.
The RNG on Corruption is already horrible, the chances of me getting a good Corruption effect is already to low, i shouldn’t have to suffer the chance of getting a DPS Corruption effect. As a Healer i should only be able to proc Healer only Corruption effects. Healers are already doing to much DPS, i don’t want it to be mandatory to get all Infinite Star gear.

I’m pretty convinced that adding dps to tanks and heals is the design strategy for 8.3. My tank jumped about 6k dps from the first Echo Void I got, that’s pretty huge. Apparently thats 16k for the larger version of just that one.
I think they made end game content expecting heals and tanks to do serious dps numbers this patch. I am thinking disc priest is a sleeper that will shine huge by the end of 8.3.

There is no such thing as “healer only” corruption effects.
All corruption is and isn’t useful for a variety of reasons and situations, so you will want to consider all of those.
The best you’d get are stat procs, or leech.
Remember, if you do enough dps to make a combat instance go 5 percent faster, that’s 5 percent less healing you need to do.
Honestly, they are probably the best ones you COULD get, because they do a lot of damage naturally without much effort on your end.

Blizzard believes otherwise, your suffering fuels 8.3

You are really complaining about doing to much dps??? this must be a troll. c’mon.

Exactly, every form of content right now promotes pumping DPS. Twisting appendage and a DPS trinket have made my resto druid very competitive in single target encounters.

I mean, when the resto druid is doing more dps than actual dps (and both have the same overall ilevel)… there’s a problem.

Kay no, it’s a bad design philosophy.
Healers dont want to be forced to do dps.
It’s been at s point where it was good/useful to do it when there is downtime or in mythic content where that little bit would matter but it was never forced. It sucks when you sign up to heal (and that’s all you enjoy) and are forced to dps. Hopefully wow never goes this route.
OP: it is because blizz hates healers and tanks and we are an after thought when it comes to content. Just look at visions as a whole, islands, etc. Itll be a bad day when they force healers to dps.

Ya, ironically, a hot topic right now on the forums is Horrific Visions not being friendly for Healing specs.
Meanwhile, in this thread, we are upset about getting extra DPS as a healer haha.

You’re right, there is a problem.
Get better dps.

Most people want content for healers/tanks, and theyve made it before where you can heal mobs or take on a tank or Healing role for certain quests. Not to be forced to do content obviously made to be done as a dps.
My heals got a tier 3 echoing void piece. At first I felt like you… why… but then its really fun to play with and it hits hard helping to cut down the mobs.

Right, that was my point. Its free damage, effectively.
The opposite of anything being forced.
But make no mistake about it.
You should ALWAYS be worried about your DPS as a healer.
Its the easiest way to stay mana efficient and still contribute to success of your group, and it is obviously needed in any solo content.

my guildmember says it can proc off heals and hit a random nearby target so… have fun

I’m sure. But they did not make it that way this time, so time to adapt!
There’s a way to not have to worry about DPS, play trivial content. Heroic raiding and everything M+ up to the low teens doesn’t require DPS from healers. You currently have your cake, and you get to eat it.
Healers screamed for YEARS about not having enough to do. Now this.

I know Healers doing as much damage as possible is the go to thing for awhile now, and i do my best to pump out as much DPS as possible when i can, but something feels wrong when the gear i wear starts to cross over into DPS territory… gearing for DPS somehow feels like a step to far for me… it feels wrong… it is one thing to help with DPS in my Healing gear but once i am forced to start gearing for DPS i start to feel like i’m playing a DPS.
What’s next? No more Intellect on gear?

If it bothers you that much, cleanse and move on with your life, the rest of the healers will enjoy having more to do than just standing around when no healing is needed.

ITT : Holy Paladin being all like “ah man, doing dps as a healer! blizz please, let me afk in the back”.
IMR (In My Raid) : Holy Paladin being all like “yo check out that parse lmao. Quick gimme more corruption yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee”.

you’re technically playing a dps healer, given you have to actually stand in melee and hit stuff to get the best out of the build you’re playing at the moment, so i don’t see the problem. (glimmer build)
