Raid loot in Shadowlands (278-304 ilvl)

In Season 4, we are getting something called “Fated”.
This Fated system is a new system implemented in Season 4 which will increase the ilvl gear of old raids. Fated will also add an affix in the boss fights of the raid as well. Adding an affix means that a new boss ability is added into the fight. Affix in this case is a Fated power.

When Season 4 is out, we will get these 3 raids in a weekly rotation. Meaning, only one of the raids is tagged as a Fated raid.

First week we are getting Castle Nathria as Fated.

Second week we are getting Sanctum of Domination as Fated.

Third week we are getting Sepulcher of the First Ones as Fated.

Then it starts over again with Castle Nathria.

Seems like it would be an easy win to add a few levels to the cypher system so that solo players have something to work toward.

Are they going to increase how the ilvl of gear matches with the Creation Catalyst when using it to obtain transmog?

By which I mean, if I take a 278 M+ piece to the Creation Catalyst, it will turn it into a Mythic Sepulcher piece for the transmog set. I’m assuming that to finish off the Mythic raid transmog set, it’ll now require 304 ilvl M+ items, but worth checking if anyone knows for sure (in case they don’t update that, in which case it becomes much quicker to finish off the Mythic transmog set with lower ilvl drops).

They should add rank 7 and rank 8 to ZM gear for 259 and 265. ZM plays way good at current heroic raid tier. The spciy rares still have an edge and take some proper play, but the kill times in general feel good. We finish the ZM ilvl progression at like 60% table completion, it already feels like there’s supposed to be a rank 7 and 8.

What we got basically cost us a raid tier. Maybe updating world gear would’ve cost us 2 raid tiers. /s

This ilvl bump seems a bit nuts.

We went from 278 being the cap, to being the floor? I wonder if someone just screwed up the math. Even in 9.2, I thought heroic 9.1 was the 9.2 floor, not mythic 9.1.

Nope. Mythic last tier was always equal to normal current tier.

I really hate how heroic raiders are peer pleasured into doing Mythic+ every week because of how much easier 15’s are for superior item level upgrades

The rank 1 pvp honor levels have to be wrong, coulda sworn level 1 honor gear starts at 268 ilvl and scales up to 294

Why does the PvP item level say 242, 236, 242, 255? So I upgrade and then go down in item level? It cant be right.

New casual player: “Wow I can’t wait to try that PVP everyone was talking about.”
[ilvl 248, 1 legendary, 60 renown and some conduits]

Experienced 1% player: “LOL I 1 shot that noob! Uninstall.”
[ilvl 300, dual legendary, max renown and all conduits. Fully gemmed and enchanted.]

I wonder why this game just can’t retain new players?

Why would a non-competitive player play PvP, a game of who’s on top of the foodchain? A non-competitive player should just play PvE instead.

It’s not an issue when you are on the top of the foodchain. I played PvP when I was on top of the foodchain. When I became Casual, why would I play PvP? just to be a free kill for hardcore players?

And that’s why there’s little fun for casual players, and why there is very little draw to get into PVP.

That’s a big issue for a game who’s community keeps saying “Yeah but our pvp is better” and for those few people who decide to invest multiple dozens of hours to get there it’s most certainly a bitter pill to find that they aren’t wanted in the endgame activities they started playing for.

…and then they quit.
