I have a question to all these people, do you all understand that to get our 226 gear we did the content that gives 226 gear with lesser gear? Like we didn’t get a set of 226 armor and weapons in the mail then use that to finish the content.
If you want better gear and you are just as skilled at the game as us why are you not doing the content that rewards the gear?
We all worked our way through normal>heroic>Mythic0>normal raid>mythic+>heroic raid>Mythic raid and/or got PvP ranks to get our gear. We didn’t just magically get to skip the gearing process.
You seem kinda upset 
Because man, they’ve got like… a life, and kids, and a job.
I have a life and job, no kids though guess that’s why I have good gear, lack of crotch goblins… though there are a few people in my guild that have kids on top of their jobs and they also get 226 gear.

Its more like your ilvl is carrying you to do insignificant content.

it already does that in game…its called m+ and scaling to higher keys. as the keys get higher its basically the same as their ilevel getting lowered.
