I'll never spend another dollar on the in-game shop

Logged in after a year long break to find the Celestial Steed I paid $20 for is free on the trading post. Now that I know these shop items can appear in the trading post, I don’t see much point in paying cash for them. :+1:

Hurts doesn’t it?

I actually didn’t even buy it from the trading post. I never actually liked the look of the mount and I’ve already hit the 500 mount achievement so really no point in a +1

Heavens to Betsy!

the last thing i bought was the shu-zen dog never to buy anything again besides a token for gametime when i get over 2 million gold for some reason i’m obsessed with just staying at 2 million gold.

Wait. People spend real money on the shop? Like, not just, “use in-game gold to buy Token to redeem for $15 and buy things”?

Okay. But uh…thank you to the people who spend $20 to put their tokens on the AH for me to buy!

I think there was much more rage over the Fel-Drake being a free Twitch reward then Sparkle Pony being available for Trader Coins.

That thing came out during wrath I believe, I think you will survive the drama.

My guess is only the lowest selling mounts will ever make in the trading post. Lowest selling in last couple years to be more specific.

Enjoy waiting a decade then, OP.

I already don’t spend any money in the in-game shop because I think that a game I pay $15 a month for should have all its content included already. Given that it’s all cosmetics it’s not a decision I’ve ever felt that bad about. So I actually don’t mind when cash shop stuff appears on the Trading Post.

You’re free to spend your money as you see fit. I wish you luck in your future financial fun.

Well that’s definitely a phrase I guess.

i don’t really get offended by this kinda stuff, only thing I didn’t like is the Imperial Quilen going on the store after 7 or 8 years of being a “you had to be there” mount. but i understand why Blizz does this kinda stuff

Ya OP, don’t blame you. I was thinking the same.

You mean it isnt because they hate their players and want to get one over on them? Oh… nevermind… Ive been reading too much GD. :smirk:

I cant imagine how much more worse off the last couple xpacs would have been if this were the mentality at Blizz :fearful:

that’s cool. personally, i’ve never seen any real purpose to spend any real money on cosmetic surgery in am mmo.

the exception being to support an mmo with good developers doing their best to provide real entertainment for their customers.

wow has been failing at that for over 10 years.

Imagine trying to use the celestial steed as a brag

My concern is with how fun the game I’m playing is and with how much value I get from my dollars. I’ll leave it to Blizz to figure out how to stay in the black.

For what it’s worth, even though I dislike the cash shop out of principle, you don’t see me making complaint threads about it since I find it relatively inoffensive. It’s very easy for me to ignore so I do just that.

And I have bought WoW stuff from the merch store before. But it’s always been physical stuff that you couldn’t get in game. I got the Shadow plushie for my sister on her birthday for instance. So I don’t mind extra monetization. I mind selling exclusive in-game items for a sub-based game. But out of all the in-game cash shops I’ve seen, WoW’s is nowhere near the worst of them.
