Y’all love your false equivalence
The Slime Cat isn’t prestigious in any way. No one is asking for these mounts that come from overcoming a challenge.
The slime cat is essentially a participation trophy mount.
People agree that LFR and Normal are similar difficulty, but LFR is infinitely more convenient.
I’ve done LFR a few times, wiping 10 times per boss is not convenient…it’s a time sink…
It’s no more a time sink than wiping once and having the group fall apart.
Being able to do the raid in segments without having dedicate your time to someone else’s schedule is invaluable to people who work erratic schedules.
Also, not being able to be denied is also extremely beneficial
Thats what a guild is for 
How is a guild good for someone who can’t commit to someone else’s schedule?
The WoW community has the worst community out of every MMO, I am fully convinced of this after this slime cat ordeal.
The achievement said “any” difficulty but more importantly, this mount was voted on by players of all play styles.
If Blizz said “hey, vote on the next aotc mount” there would be no argument.
It was tacked to any difficulty because there’s no distinct clear achievement between lfr and normal. Even heroic didn’t have a distinct achievement prior to Shadowlands, outside of ahead of the curve.
Not saying any of it wasn’t bad, and the worst of it is the last minute notification, but it was most likely set to be normal or higher from the beginning.
Time is a flat circle. Kill archimonde on normal or above.
Also we already had “any difficulty” achivs with Sanctum and Sepulcher which worked with lfr. And that is precisely why people are annoyed. We had for 3months “any difficulty”. LFR being classified as a difficulty, its also fated, and adressed as a difficulty in the season 4 post. We already had “any difficulty” achivs in the past or even “on normal or above”.

Personally I do think that it shouldn’t be awarded for completing LFR. Having said that, in this case I think they made the wrong move. They released information clearly stating it would be an option for LFR players and they should just bite the bullet and make it so this time. And then do a better job with internal testing next time…
That’s another AotC like achievement. Not really a kill achievement.
