The main thing keeping from playing Druid is the shifting. Like, idk what cat weaving is, but it sounds very unappealing. I want to play a spec and stick with it.
You shift into catform and dot up the target then shift back out and do your nornal thing.
It was mostly popular with min/max boomy builds or feral builds.
Powershifting or form weaving has always been popular for min/maxing.
I never bothered and normally play feral or bear.
Cat weaving is for Resto, to DPS in between. To be frank, either cat weaving/boomkin is rather simple, but can feel jarring. I’m not sure about Season 4 stuff, I have been playing Remix since. If you’re not one of addon haters, OPiE addon is a great way to handle shapeshifting/mounts/whichever you prefer.
As for TWW, that’s a bit complicated. Last time I checked, Wildstalker the hero talent, buff Boomkin like 10% and under 10% for catweaving. I had heard many sides complaining the former/latter is better for DPS. I honestly don’t know since we’re still in Beta.
Basically, all cat weaving is, is making all your dps come from cat form as a healer. (you can throw some balance stuff if you really want to, but I prefer the button space of pure cat weaving)
That way you have one button to shift you into cat form and all the others can be your healing spells. After you throw on your hots than usually there is about 10 sec where you are free so it’s easier to jump into cat form.
Treants also make this much more viable. They’re little trees that do healing for you, and you can cast them in any form. So, if you are in cat form you can slowly throw out treants to increase your time in cat form or even all three treants in a dire situation where people start taking a lot of damage.
You can also do the same thing with boomie basically you turn into the owlkin form and start firing off all your balance spells instead of feral.
Because you are quickly changing to different bars with different abilities than it is a little bit of a learning curve, if you’ve never really played druid.
Druid because you basically can be a DPS, tank or healer. I personally like Guardian and Feral.
I’ve played both to 2100, but only PvE’d on priest. That being said, they’re two wildly different classes which both scratch individual itches I think. It’s difficult to choose between them based on criteria vs. what you’re actually just looking to enjoy.
If you enjoy mobility, don’t play priest. If you don’t enjoy aggression, don’t play priest. If you enjoy aggression and can deal with being less mobile, maybe priest will be fun for you. It’s very subjective.
I like rolling disc, but overall my druid is way more versatile. She can pull off more panic heals, move around more while HoTs are ticking, give me more time to play different strategies depending on the skill of the group I’m with.
Disc is fun, but when your party takes heavy hits, it doesn’t always feel like there’s enough tools in her arsenal to get everyone patched up quickly enough in a smooth flow. You do a lot of straight line casting that requires you to stand stationary. The damage rotation is tricky, if your group is nuking stuff fast, you don’t get time to benefit from atonement and have to hard cast again to replenish health bars.
I like both. I’ve mained my priest the last 2 seasons, but have been told druids are currently all the rage because of their healing treants. Those little shrub buddies give you more time to be aggressive with dps, focus on affixes and what have you. It’s always nice to be able to kitty stealth around mobs too.
I’d vote druid.
Druid can fulfill every role, and having an instant-cast flying mount and stealth are very, very nice for questing no matter which spec you play.
Im moving off of shaman
I will mostly be healing Blitz
I dont like popular specs
I do like mobility but not at the teadeoff of the above 3
Druids are fun, but between the 2 I prefer priests. They are simpler for me.
