I put them in quotes because it depends on the definition of cheating that is being used, and some of these are indeed against ToS. Ninja looting is not just “fair game”, even if its rarely punished.
exactly, all those things except the ninja example are grey area, nobody thinks they are good things to do but they do not rise to the level of reportable or actually cheating

Solid point. And I’d argue that participating in a gdkp could be considered a grey area, except for those actually buying or selling the gold. Anecdotal evidence from my experience: a vast majority of the folks i raid gdkp with do not participate in RMT and similarly despise it as I do.
But people just want to throw out ‘everyone who gdkps is a RMT’ instead of the much more obvious: Some raiders are bad people, and most raiders are not.
yes, i bought all my bis boes and built up over 1000g over the phase, and i got all of the gold legitimately, and it took a lot of effort and a long time, and i do not love having that effort cheapened by rmt lords pumping cash into gdkp payouts.

It is kinda hilarious that:
- you assume the GDKP players didn’t farm like you
- that your special gold will have more value after GDKPs are banned
The buyers in GDKPs seem to make smarter decisions with their gold considering that over 200g for lvl25 blue sholders is way too expensive

Just curious, how did you acquire 1000g. Flipping items in the AH? Farming herbs or fish? Crafting fees, summoning fees, selling items out of dungeons?
Whatever the answer i doubt its “vendored everything and turned it into 1000g”
If you are using the economy you are taking advantage of the inflation of gold to profit in some way, would you argue that is a direct consequence of RMT and gold inflation caused by it?

You can, but now the GDKP players - instead of making 5-whatever gold per payout. Will now be like “well I’ll just buy 1000g to sustain me for the phase”, and you will spending days farming up what they will earn in a tiny little swipe.
I’m clearly talking about breaking the TOS and buying gold to hold a loot advantage over others.
limited stock items from the caravan vendor in desolace, just have a very low ping and understand how to buy items with a macro so you beat anyone else trying to buy before you.
also helps to be a rogue so you can not be seen while waiting for or running with the caravan and just sap anyone from the opposite faction, which is just an unbreakable CC rn

i never said rmt’d/botted gold hitting the AH isnt a problem, its just one blizz is unwilling to tackle so those are the rules we play by

Perfect! and I don’t think thats illegitimate at all. But, the gold you are receiving is likely worth a lot less (inflation) than what these items would have been worth beginning of phase 1, or og classic, etc. You’re generating ramped up profits and benefitting off the inflation.
Do I think that is wrong? No, you do you, you sneaky rogue. But you are taking advantage of the system too.
There are people buying gold all over the economy. But many people carried GDKPs to avoid buying gold.
Now instead of doing that they will probably just buy gold.
oh no that farm is basically done now, even now the stuff from the vendors is worth half what it was a few weeks ago, and it will be worth nothing as soon as the next phase hits

Yeah basically everything is going to low value (including raw gold) as the phase ends - since creating gold will be a ton easier at lvl 40 than at lvl 25.
Which is why I laugh when people say the GDKP ban collapse the price of gold, no the official release date of the next season did, the price per gold will always drop at lvl 40 relative to lvl 25.
