I’ll take TBC over Classic+. You guys got to be fooling yourselves by thinking Activision Blizzard will create something worthy and fun.
I’m not seeing this at all… I see people asking for TBC but not people specifically saying “Force TBC onto classic”
And even if they were and they were worried about TBC being barren that is just silly.
I love classic, I love vanilla, but I’m also realistic…once Nax has been out for 6 months or so or whatever period of time you want to pick, people are going to want to move on if they have that option. TBC servers would be a massive hit and a lot of people I know on here specifically are waiting for just that.
And once again, just to clarify, I’m not suggesting classic would die after that. Classic has it’s audience, they have had their audience for years. But so has TBC.
? And yet you play WoW. And yet you are poo poo’ing content that hasn’t even been created yet.
/confused.
I am not going to go back over the last 2 to 3 months of post to look for them all…there are to many but they are there and there are a lot of them.
But you missed the OP’s post that I was responding to up a ways where he stated as much, as in his estimation there was “no reason not to” do so.
I understand one random dumb dumb said this. I get it. One random dumb dumb said a dumb dumb thing to say. Let’s not stretch out one random dumb dumbs statement to “EVERYONE WHO WANTS TBC WANTS IT FORCED ON CLASSIC”.
That’s just silly guys come on…
there is more then one random dumb dumn though …I am not saying every one who wants it is saying I am saying I see it a lot like A LOT like every day I see at least one new poster saying as much if not more.
And I disagree. It hasn’t been a lot. I’ve gone through loads of these threads and I might find like one or two people out of 100commented post that say this but you are for sure blowing it out of proportion.
I hope you are right and I hope if they do tbc they make there own servers and not force classic over to them…I dont want to unsub from wow, But I will if they do.
Who did that?
When comes time, Blizzard will need to make a staff resources choice.
Does the community want us to bolt TBC onto Classic?
Does the community want us to add content to Classic as it exists?
Does the community want us to leave it in it’s pre-TBC state.
Who knows what the future holds.
Did you bother reading like… any of the conversation you were replying to?
edit: I give up. this forum software persists in a state of monkey balls. Cannot even easily quote something without it becoming a jumbled mess of word and code salad.
Here’s how they should do a ‘Classic+’…
First of all, Classic remains untouched and available for…ever. It is the Original. it’s the game that changed the genre. It is a museum piece.
What Blizz should do, if anything, is add separate TBC servers, with a one-time character copy. These servers should run through the TBC timeline and then progress to Wrath. And continue through Wrath. It’s at that point that ‘Classic+’ makes sense. I don’t think choosing Wrath is arbitrary as it was the highpoint of subs. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say the majority of players think the game went downhill at a greater pace after that.
There are problems with Wrath though…namely the Dungeon Finder. Though of course that could be removed in a ‘Wrath+’. It would allow Blizzard to retain the most important aspects of the game, the social experience, the server identity. The class design was quite good at the time. It was before the talent trees were destroyed.
That’s how I would do it.
Id much rather get some of that unreleased content like kara crypts. Not that I dont like BC. Also only if classic gets its own server.
No please go ahead and tell us. The so called “refining” you are talking about is likely things that are in retail things people didn’t like.
The vast majority of people interested in TBC want separate servers
Usually, it’s people who enjoy vanilla who are afraid of “splitting the playerbase”.
I’m definitely not afraid that TBC servers won’t have the numbers to support them; after all, it’s pulling from a larger number of potential players returning to check it out.
This is the choice that Blizzard has already committed to. Anything else will be on separate servers.
The only real question is if those will be more legacy servers or some form of Classic+.
But nothing will be “bolted onto” the existing Classic servers.
Hey
I think our discussion has gotten a little fractured and I don’t think I want to keep track of all the blocks we’re discussing anymore. I think we’ve also both made all the points we’re going to make and it’s quite clear what both of us might like to see for classic down the line.
I think we can end it here. Thanks for the discussion!
I’m fine with getting TBC if they remove stuff like flying and other anti-classic design elements.
