They’ve certainly made some specs more viable than others. I never saw Prot Pallies, for example, in Era. Maybe once in a blue moon to fulfill the token BoK buff. >_>; And even then some holy pallies spec’ed into it.

Hunters are the only pure dps left, look at ranged hunter and you have all the proof you need.

We had Kings in every single raid I ever went to. Holy Paladins took it.

I saw one Prot Paladin in Classic that tanked Scholomance. They were glorious. It’s just rare because they can’t taunt. Things need to go right 90% of the time for that spec to work out, which is why you never see it in 40-man raids.

What goal post have I moved? You’re calling any class that can do more than one role “hybrid”, and that’s literally all of them. It’s just not what it is.

I do it all the time. Still not what anyone is talking about when they say hybrid, and that includes the original devs who implemented the hybrid tax.

priests/wars/warlocks/pallies/shaman/mages/rogues/druids are all hybrids.

in fact the only “pure” class right now is hunters.

The more I see warriors malding about SoD and reminiscing about the good ol’ days of classic… the more I want every single boss for the remainder of SoD to be High Armor so they can’t even get invited to raid as a tank.
