Well if it's handled properly they will get a server wide blacklist. I don't want blizzard to get involved in anything besides doxxing and threats of irl violence. Let the community decide the punishment. I remember not buying certain peoples AH postings because of who they where.
Part of classic was having infamous people. It was part of the game. You knew who the villains of your faction where.
If you have no villains than you will never have a hero.

They will call this harassment. You mark my words. Threads about player misbehavior will be expunged from the forums, and attempts to use social justice (actual, real social justice, not the meme) to police the community by the players, for the players, will be met with punishment by the GMs.
Things have changed. The new staff isn't going to know what they're looking at. It's gonna' be bad, because the way of doing things now is primarily automation wherever possible, and when it can't be avoided and a human being has to be involved, blind adherence to a strict set of rules. GMs don't get the kind of room for personal judgment that they used to.

Forums, lol. Word of mouth has a ton of weight when you can't rename or transfer. Ninja looters might as well reroll

That, or become infamous. All of the greatest ninjas have videos made about them. They are part of world of warcraft history.

The funeral event? Cold as ice.... Forever remembered for it too.

The people that went that path always brought something to the community. Ninjaing was part of vanilla if people like it or not. It's an adventure and you make your own legend.

what if they have an alt? Loot on one char, sell on another, and play on even another?

It's entirely possible that people run third party site blacklists off the forums. Blizzard has no control over that.
The question is whether people will use them and if you trust them enough to be honest about who is going on the list. Blacklisting should be taken somewhat seriously by anyone that manages them. They are for disruptive repeat offenders. Not petty crap like someone rolling on "your" drop in deadmines.
Um, Ninja Looting was never reportable, there are no right click options for that. If you get labeled a Ninja looter, thats a community thing. Blizzard won't squat about it, and there are no bans for it.10/29/2018 05:21 PMPosted by RistraRight click > report ninja? When enough people report you there is a ninja flag on your profile?

There needs to be a certain level req. someone new to the game may ninja and not know they did something bad. You can read lots of posts from people talking about how they didn’t know loot rules to start. If people report them it could end their wow career early. Then again that would mean no punishment for ninjas at low level. So what do you do?
Probably what we did in vanilla. Teach them the right way and if they don’t listen they get branded a ninja.
How are they going to police discord?
While I don’t support ninja-looting, I admit to enjoying some ragy nerd drama as long as it’s far removed from my circle. Ventrilo harrasment vids are also a sure hit.
Perhaps we will see some Classic Discord harrasment vids.
Server ‘blacklists’ don’t work nearly as well as people here hope, especially when the population isn’t fixed and when the playerbase is much more forgiving than you hope they would be.
Someone ninja-loots, some people might listen, but that’s where it might end, especially on higher population servers or on servers where the population is a revolving door.
That guy might ninja-loot, and you may never hear from them again. Or that person might be given a pass by other people because you might be seen as causing drama. Or, worse yet, as it was stated earlier, you might be accused of causing drama.
