Wow… OP left an +8. Aren’t they dreamy?
8, 4, 20, it doesn’t matter, if a player is sufficiently geared you should at least expect a bare minimum something from them.
But you don’t gotta come here acting like a big boss just because you leave.
People who have sufficient gear have no business being in 8s. If they are also competent, they really have no business being in 8s.
8s are for people who want to chill and have fun.
I didn’t say high gear, I said sufficient. If I ran some M4’s and was in a group of players all at 410 iLVL I would expect a bare minimum 25-30K, if they are not bringing that, if they are doing 10K DPS, I’m out.
Tbh I don’t even quite know what that means in this context. Considering OP mentions overgearing the key but if you existed last season you overgear +8s.
Not trying to level bash, I don’t think I do high keys on my mains. But my 380 hunter is doing 8s.
(idk if its 8s, i just thought kse was that)
So, you want them not to play at the 2nd percentile or lower for ilvl. That’s fine. I would say probably set the bar to 2nd percentile for key. Their gear and their skill come together to determine their performance. If their performance is regularly enough for X key level, and they’re in X key level, that’s fine.
If someone is very geared and they’re doing low keys, and they have poor performance, they probably know they’re not skilled, and they’re there because they know that’s the level they can contribute enough. They might be there because they need practice. So leaving the key leaves them without the practice they desperately need and it’s not good to do. My advice is to not leave low keys even if the players are very bad, because they are probably bad because everyone keeps leaving them and never helping them. If you can give them constructive feedback and tips, that’s even better.
But what’s enough? What do you expect from players? You still haven’t answered and are just making excuses and rambling.
A little more than this as a minimum
Enough is “can we time this key.” It’s not an individual thing. If they as an individual suck but they come with a title holding bear and warrior who agree to carry them, they’re doing enough.
I can’t give you a dps measure because even if they are doing 50k in a 16 but also doing every mechanic and sending their stops very well, I’d much rather play with them than a fool who does 100k and gets hit by every avalanche and doesn’t stun the disc throwers. But I’d probably take a fool who does 160k and no mechanics over either of them if it’s a 16 we’re talking about. lol
How do you even fail an 8 lol. I timed a 13 on my 370 shaman that i dont even know how to play. Being a bad player myself,I see a lot of deaths happen due to not using defensives. Like if youre at 20% health and the boss is doing a long cast,do something, anything to help the healer. Most of my keys wouldnt be timed if I solely relied on the healer.
It sounds like it’s calling to attention that those who make “90% of my runs have quitters” posts should be taking responsibility for the fact they are likely why they have quitters
For DPS, absolutely. Because my 415 resto druid healer was sitting just south of that range in S1/early S2
Was this an early access sunday thread?
213 runs? Huh? Who you running them on your lock there has zero runs and your resto druid is barely over 1k io.
Why waste time wiping to it 2-3 times when the tank can just do it for you. (From my pov) I will waste the groups time if I believe trying the boss again will have the same result, or if the boss is low enough that it wont take a ridiculous amount of time.
There was a glitch causing disconnections until recently if you got hit by CC while in the air.
Leaving and 100% bricking a key is more toxic than 25k dps.
Other side of the coin? If you keep getting leavers, you might in fact still be doing everything right, or even be going above and beyond parse pinks or golds for damage, rarely take unnecessary damage, etc.
But you play an off-meta healer and can’t fix the rest of the team… nor can you get into the keys you want easily despite being very capable because you are… off meta. And the second the mage blinks in front of the boss’s frontal, gets one shot(?), then flames the tank (??) for not holding aggroo (???)… they leave!
It sure is a lot of fun to wait as a geared healer well over 2.5k for literal hours, suffer further because leader doesn’t understand how to make a comp, then have a one dps be a leaver for ??.
When I make my own groups, I also immediately kick people and find someone else before starting the run that don’t say anything. Basically 90% of the time, that silent one is first to either mess up and/or leave.
Sure, I’ve left groups too, but first to leave? I can count on my hands since M+even first was made a thing in Legion. If someone starts spewing toxicity over them messing up? Nope. Even then I usually like to see how far it goes until someone else dips. Not long, usually.
There are also people that wait hours in queue then leave 6 min in because they wont timer something, or because someone might be logging and they cant have thier blemish show up on record!!
