If you have AZRAEL on a PVP/RPVP server, I will pay you for it

I spent over 30 minutes trying to log in and by the time I got in this name was taken on every single server (PVE and RP servers included).

If by chance you’re reading this and you got it on one of the PVP servers, I’m willing to pay you for it. Removed by moderation as nothing in game is allowed to be sold for real money. My preference would be either Grobbulus, Herod, or Faerlina, but I’d be happy with getting the name of my main, which I created all the way back in Vanilla WoW, on any PVP server.

This is a serious offer. I’d really like to play this character on Classic. I made him back in Vanilla and I’d really like to recreate him fully. So if you managed to get the name Azrael and are willing to give it up, then please post here or e-mail me at knightofthegreenchapel@gmail.com. Thanks.

why are you begging for a name on wow

Whoever logs into that on an RP server, I (with many others) will report them. It’s not appropriate on RP.

That’s so funny lmao

Because I want it. It’s the name of my main, which I created way back during Vanilla, and I’d like to recreate my Vanilla character in WoW.

And why isn’t it appropriate? It’s a fantasy name. An inappropriate name on an RP server would be something like “Mikeoxmaul” or “7331Gam3r”.

Many people use RP addons for their actual name.

**Azrael** (/ˈæzriəl/; Biblical Hebrew: עֲזַרְאֵל‎‎ ʿázarʾēl) is the Angel of Death in Islam and some Jewish traditions. The Hebrew name translates to "Angel of God", "Help from God", or "One Whom God Helps"

Sucks you didn’t get the name you’ve been using forever though, common as it may be. (I feel like there is a character in the Diablo universe that has this name as well?)

That’s a rather petty and far reaching reason to report someone’s name.

The name “Azrael” violates nothing in the roleplaying name policy. We have a character named Myzrael in the setting itself.

I had an innocuous name on an RP server that someone disagreed with, and they flew into a rage and reported me. They just like clenching their buttocks.

Your first problem was choosing a RP server.

Personally I was thinking the one comment was just a little under the bridge action. Your name isn’t one I was trying for so it wasn’t me.

Outside of actually violating naming rules if someone reports a name for not being appropriate… I think they should have to prove they have a reason to know the name floating over your head while in character and if they can’t… they should be removed from the RP servers entirely.

I always find it amazing when people go on and on about RP and then comment on the name floating over someones head, that they have no “in character” way to know.
# Role Play Naming Policy

World of Warcraft Role Play (RP) servers are intended to provide players with an added level of immersion in the game world. Names on RP servers must adhere to Blizzard’s Code of Conduct (https://battle.net/support/article/42673), and also must avoid being disruptive to the world.

Examples of common unacceptable or disruptive RP names include (but are not limited to):
Azrael is obviously a fantasy name. Again, we have a character named Myzrael.

The name Azrael doesn’t reference a well known person, character, brand, place, or icon. Certainly nothing like the cited examples where people instantly recognize the name and what it refers to.

Azrael clearly doesn’t fall into this category.

I’ve no horse in this race, and don’t care to argue one side or the other… but I’ve got 20minutes left at work so why not.

Names that reference well known people, characters, brands, places, or icons

This is why it would be “against the rules”. It’s a sort of catch-all they use to block the ‘Goku’ and ‘Sephiroth’ players, but would also apply for people trying to use ‘Jesus’ or ‘Buddha’.

While I don’t think your name would be enough of an eye sore to cause most people to report it, there are obviously still some that would and once it got in front of the appropriate blizzard support team, that forced name change would be coming.

As for the server named Myzrael… I’m not familiar with that outside of the WoW NPC. The server being named after NPCs heavily involved in classic makes sense, but they also do not adhere to these same rules when making their own NPCs. There are countless examples of that all throughout WoW and pretty much all of Blizzard’s IPs

Dude, did you play on Kul Tiras back in the day?

How is that in any way comparable? Most people the world over instantly recognize those names. It’s absurd to group them into the same category. It’d be like banning every name that ever appeared in fiction.

I’ve used the same name on my main for years and never had a problem, and I play on an RP-PVP server (Or at least it was). The idea that anyone at Blizzard would have an issue with this name is absurd.

Isn’t it? Are you not allowed to pull names from mythology/religion on to servers?

Edit: nevermind read the thread a bit more and someone explained ^^;

Ignore me if this isn’t a Dark Angles reference but if it is… you’re a heretic. :>
