…you shouldn’t get a deserter debuff. I just had a group kick me. After reading the chat they didn’t want me to use Fists of Fury so when I used it again I got kicked.
It just seems really easy for groups to abuse the system.

That’s not abuse of the system. It’s use of the system. The debuff was applied to people vote kicked because otherwise people who wanted to bail would just act like fools and cause problems in order to get a vote kick rather than just leaving. Now whether you leave or are voted out, same debuff. Bottom line is don’t annoy your team mates.

If getting kicked didn’t incur the penalty people would just sabotage runs they wanted to leave to force the party to kick them.

Leaving the dungeon on your own also shouldn’t get you a penalty, just replace leavers with those bots. Then if there’s no deserter penalty for leaving a queue dungeon, no reason there needs to be the deserter penalty for getting kicked

Is the debuff account-wide? I can’t even remember the last time I got vote-kicked; But the overall number is less than five, lol.

It’s okay to fail. Runs fall apart, keys break and not everything needs a feel good fail safe. In short, it’s okay to have adversity and challenges in the game that stem from human interaction. Just saying.

Sus that they would even notice what abilities are being used, this does not sound like a complete story.
Random dungeons barely last long enough to notice what the others are doing unless it’s causing a problem. Think I’ll put my money on “hey why is the tank/healer able to use Fists of Fury??” (a dps-only ability)

We never get the full story here, we only here their version, not once have i ever seen a thread where someone comes here to whine about a kick and then the other people show up to give their version of events lol

Queued normal dungeons aren’t that serious
Replacing anyone who leaves or gets kicked with bots, and no more deserter, is a win win

I mean with this system, they could vote kick you because they hate your mog. I suggest only playing with friends and guild mates. That way you don’t have to deal with these sort of people who seem to be of the opinion they can tell somebody which ability to use and which one not to use.

realistically it would be better to just again eat the 30m debuff move on to another character, farm for 30m or play some BGs to tear away at the debuff, the whole reason why they added it in the first place was because select people did not enjoy a particular dungeon, held it hostage, and either purposely wipe the group to get others to leave so they don’t get the debuff, to queue again.
again there’s other stuff you can do to pass 30mins to enjoy what you possibly can out of the game, but one thing i do agree with is the fact the debuff should only be halved to 15mins. like BG/Arena Deserter. that way it’s still there, but not as much of an inconvenience as 30mins typically is.
Who’s demanding anything?? You are creating a scenario in your head and filling it with my voice. 
We all know the reason for the deserter buff. To say people were not being selfish and wrecking others experience for a temporary gain is foolish. Asking for ‘bots to the rescue’ so people can continue is equally so imo.
Once a person is kicked, I would rather the run end as abruptly as the awakening machine.
So someone was afk and the other 4 people have to either carry them or the run ends? no

Doesn’t sound like abuse, sounds like the system working. Why did you ignore their request?
