If you don't make changes, pvp is going to stay dead

Thank you for posting OP. I put together this post here in an attempt to get the Community Council and Blizzard to address some of the issues that have been plaguing Retail PvP for years. Please join us to help get some of this stuff fixed. So far the CC has made a couple posts as a result but we need to do more.

For the last 6 years we’ve seen only Out of Touch Class Tuning, MMR adjustments that didn’t go far enough, and The Poor Implementation of Solo Shuffle.
Every area of play is in shambles, casual BGs, Epics, Soloshuff, RBGs, World PvP, Level Scaling in lower brackets (the list goes on) it’s a total mess and they’ve been doing less than the bare minimum for 6years.

Here’s a third option, hear me out, I think you’ll like it:

Realize you’re getting stressed out by and whining about tab target mmo pvp on a 20 year old engine. Find a better use for your time. Find better games to scratch that competitive itch. Feel happier.

mythic raiding requires more, m+ you only kinda need 4? You can get fancier, but I prefer a more minimal set up personally. Details/DBM/WA/Omni cd and if you are a healer some kind of healbot/vuhdo. Dont really even need omni cd to do 20’s which is where rewards end anyways for most

Sure, my back feels like it. But it doesn’t change the fact that your statement was painful on the eyes.

I have said it before, and I will say it till the day gaming is no more:

MMO PvP is unfair because it cannot be balanced. You will never ever have a truly fair fight between two people or two teams because there is no true balance.

get premades the hell out of regular bgs and we might see a resurgence in players participating in pvp.

True, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be fun. My main for about 14 years was an ele sham. Never a top tier spec.

I still enjoy when my actions lead to a victory of some sort. I still enjoy the thrill of escaping a rogue in wpvp with wits. I still enjoy the game world and enjoy the pvp because I like the setting.

Name ONE high rated player that is not either playing this game all day everyday or/and this game is their job. The so called “good at this game” is playing this game for a very long time, setup all the addons, have the Arena experience from playing it alllllll the time.

Well yes but no. While giant CC chains are pure pain to play against, getting rid of CC would just make PvP worse. Part of the issue with CC now is that it’s not evenly distributed, and it’s not well managed. Rather than wholesale removing CC because that’d suck giga balls, and this is speaking from personal experience as a WW monk, measures should be taken to make the giant CC chains more difficult to execute or cost more in terms of resources.

Bud, it’s not hard to check PvP me lol. I haven’t played since s2, and I could hop on retail tomorrow and be higher rated than you in the same gear I have on now lmfao.

And my profile isn’t even hidden

Yeah. People who play a game specifically for its minigames deserve respect too. WoW PVPers are like those who play Sonic Adventure 2 for the chao garden, and I love the chao garden.

im not gonna sweat to carrry dps in shuffle. won’t once won’t ever.

but u can hear urself, so u cna hear stupid.

Ah i get that, so those who are too bored from the game they either try RP or Pvp
i cant imagine playing pvp since pvp on retail is a joke, you reach a point where you get perma cc against druid n shaman, theres no counterplay and retail just aint the place, you either play meta or go home

Impressive. Do you seriously think you could get to 1400?

1400 is like logging onto the game

There little more to be said that hasn’t been.

There is a great feedback thread on the forums which got a mention on the Community Council, but sadly garnered little support. There were council members basically saying they themselves didn’t understand PvP so had no opinion, rather than actually throw their support behind their fellow players. It was really harsh.

Then you had Plunderstorm. Whilst not traditional WoW PvP it did highlight feedback about PvP from WoW content creators. Despite it not being ‘proper’ WoW PvP, there was still a few days on the forums where mentioning liking PvP got you threats.

What has become clear since the War Within announcement is that Blizz wants to start adding more PvP content, and that part of the player base will go to the point of breaking the ToS against other players if players participate in that content. It’s an absolutely insane situation, because on top of that you have a list of issues to do with the PvP we have now that is just ignored.

I think the long and short though is that no one is going to be vocal about PvP unless Blizz cultivate the culture by encouraging people to participate. Moderation needs to be stepped up to deal with those who break the ToS, or no one will actively talk about PvP for fear of becoming a target.

It’s good that Blizz have shown they still value PvP players, but they should have committed to fixing more long term problems with the launch of War Within.

Its pretty obvious at this point its what they want dude. NONE of our devs care for wow pvp or its community. We can scream, beg, cry, bargain, rage or any other emotion and we get ignored
