If you don't agree with me, then you're wrong

It depends on the context, there are opinions on the forums, and then there are people spouting stuff out of their butts. The latter should be labeled as incorrect and invalid. It seems some people are incapable of saying “hey this is my opinion, it’s how I feel, how do you guys feel? Why or why not?”. Feedback also matters from the other players, just because one group of players has a strong opinion on something doesn’t mean it should be implemented or not implemented into the game. If there was something that had true universal benefits with no downsides, I’m sure Blizz would not hesitate to add it in. News flash: most things are not like that.

No matter what your opinion is on something, people will find a way to say the other side is better. Sometimes it’s just because people like to argue.

Feedback matters…

Sure. But much of what happens here is this…

"I don’t like something, so I’m going to infer that it’s negatively affecting everyone, then argue with others who are providing me with help, and then proceed to complain and accuse people of being elitists. "

This just happened in a thread about how cruddy leveling is. Many were actually trying to assist OP with how to not have such a high XP gain, but that wasn’t good enough. We even said that we would support a toggle for hard mode. Still not good enough.

If you are going to provide feedback on a game forum… you need to have thick skin and not take things so personally. Many of us have been playing for a very very very long time. We’ve lived through every expansion. We’ve even provided our own feedback and it’s either been ridiculed or ignored.

Lastly, if it is true feedback and not a whining session, it’ll get a better response. But you will always have the few that just want to create chaos.

Critical thinking is hard. Best to avoid that. Me just say I dislike.

Issue is in days long past you could just insult idoits and mock them till they left.

Sady we lost our way and believe arguing in a circle is better

Hi, could you give an actual example? If a person is not debating in good faith, fine, ignore them. If they are debating and you interpret any criticism of your arguments as a personal attack, then you need to know that’s on you. For the millionth time US-ian, your “free speech” does not include everyone liking or agreeing with you.

The WoW forums are a terrible place if you are genuinely wanting to talk about WoW, it’s just the same 30 people every thread with 50k posts with an off putting sense of superiority.

The only thing that matters on here is somehow being right about subjective topics and dismissing any discussing that goes against what you believe

There are times when people treat there opinion as empirical statements of fact and telling them that they’re wrong is justified.

Like, if I pointed out that there is representational issues for Horde in this expansion owing to how the only horde character that’s gotten any real face time is Gazlowe that may be true but it’s also kind of an opinion since there have been other characters getting face time and Thrall is still on the loading screen, still looking like he’s going to yeet that axe at some random nerubian and ostensibly he’s going to do something in this expansion.

Meanwhile If I said “Warcraft III presented a new direction for the horde that made them not villains” that would be a fact.

You know you can block people so you don’t have to see the same annoying 30 people?

The problem is there are usually solutions to a lot of the “issues” people bring up. They just don’t bother to use them or dismiss them and complain anyway. Sometimes they’re just wrong.

I generally don’t block anyone on anything unless I have to

It’s cowardice and Garrosh wouldn’t approve

You mean like turning off my xp gain or unequipping armor so that I can have an even mildly challenging leveling experience?

There’s a difference between dismissing suggestions and not wanting to do them.

Eh. I like to tell people they’re on ignore because I know they feed on attention and it adds insult to injury when they know they’ve been deliberately excommunicated.

Also if they’re too dumb to know they’re wrong, why bother continuing? Best you can do for them is let them know you won’t engage and maybe, just maybe, they will do their due diligence in the future and stop being an idiot as unlikely as that is.

There’s only upsides to telling people they’re on ignore.

I’ve said multiple times, I’m fine with an option or slider or something like that. Just as long as my fast leveling isn’t taken away.

We both know Blizzard hates options and usually “fixes” things with a sledgehammer.

Spongebob pointing out the window meme- Current war against addons being one of them. Good in theory, but the sledgehammer taking out the ability for me to see my party member’s cooldowns is uh… not cool, lol

My ignore list is pretty small (in-game) or on forums but as of late – either the trolls are growing or my tolerance for it is shortening but those I have on ignore have made my forum experience way more pleasant.

I tend to agree with this. I’m not a raider or M+ anymore but I’m all for players having all the info they need while playing.

Instead of fighting addons they should rethink how they design encounters and think about what they need to add to the default UI.

Aint just here on the forums, luv.

It depends…is the OP being straightforward with a complaint? Are others in the thread actually trying to help the OP? Are these claims actually happening or is this just a whine fest?

I’ve seen it time and time again… someone sensationalizes and embellishes what happened and argued with everyone just to save face.

The “scam” thread is a perfect example. And the “wallet farming” thread. Which are not even remotely about the game, but just threads for sympathy.

You saw that other thread too, eh? lol
When people cant distinguish between objective and subjective, its time to make some different life choices.
