Opinions are like buttholes. We all have them and most of think stink.
I like that list! Yes, you missed:
7. You are a bot.
8. Your comments MUST be generated by AI and are not original thoughts.
Oh yea – totally forgot about that as well
Everything you listed are just variants of people not posting on their main. Which has a pretty high probability of being a bad faith troll.
Unfortunate if it’s just someone without the conviction to share their opinion on their main, but people can save a lot of effort arguing with bad faith trolls by just identifying commonalities they tend to have.
Private profiles in particular have an overwhelming possibility of being a forum troll. Because blizzard is wildly incompetent with their forum design and made it a 5 step process to add private profiles to ignore. That, and it helps hide how many sock puppets they’re using in any given thread.
Please provide any data points that support your subjective OPINION
I’ll wait right here as you gather those up… but I do appreciate you supporting my thoughts on the subject with a prime example of that nonsense.
Don’t judge a book by its cover.
The average mental age of people on the internet is 13. No disrespect to actual 13 year olds intended.
What about those of us who don’t have a main? And have created a perfectly respectable dwarven character, with a pretty nice beard, specifically for forum posting. Can we still have convictions?
I promise I won’t alt hop to agree with myself.
To be fair though, there’s a fair few folks who do that and it is 999/1000 really annoying to deal with someone like that. Since at that point one may as well just be talking with ChatGPT rather than with another person on these forums.
Why shouldn’t I? I know that’s a popular saying, and it sounds good at face value. But if a super majority of books that look like poorly written romance novels, are in fact, poorly written romance novels, instead of something worth reading like wheel of time, why would I exert the effort to identify future books that look like cheap romance novels?
Ive found in here over 8 years that the “post on your main” demands are the result of losing the debate about 97% of the time. RARELY have I seen the sort who demands that doing so because they won. Its nearly always becaues their illogical, irrational arguments got toasted and now theyre grasping at every straw in the box trying to get the egg off their face.
Fact is fact is fact…my posting character isnt relevant to those facts.
Only the desperately wrong need to worry about my posting character.
forums are for entertainment anyway
Amusing for you to say this, you put me on ignore because you are a bad faith troll.
You can read the backside of the book to get a lot of information about the book so… The saying is more cute than accurate. Especially in the context of how you tried to use it.
Exactly.
I havent had a main since Legion and even then I had 2 or 3 ‘mains’ lol.
Its an asinine, absurd demand, generally when one has lost the discussion and just doesnt want to concede that they lost and call it a day.
Obstinance when one is wrong isnt a virtue, even if some believe it is.
“Don’t judge a book by it’s cover” is valid because if you don’t"exert the effort " you will inevitably miss something that you may enjoy. And if this phrase is true for books it is even more so for people, who are far more complex. Today’s troll could have tomorrow’s great idea.
There are simple rules:
- A conviction is not up for debate.
- An opinion can be discussed, because the process of forming it is endless — unlike a conviction.
If someone is truly convinced of something, you might not have enough time in your entire life to make them even begin to doubt it.
Opinions aren’t even the direct issue, it’s the numerous players who seek arguments. They can’t see past their own perspective and no one else is allowed to differ.
Thankfully there’s a mute button. Please feel free to use it if you run into abrasive folks.
I love the whole “your opinion is objectively wrong” I see here from time to time.
Opinions, by definition, cannot be objectively anything lmao. Opinions are subjective.
Its easier to fool people than to convince them that they have been fooled. It is absolutely a waste of energy to even attempt to convince them.
