Not long, matter in fact I aimed for 1400 as a first goal and got there within a single session. Using voice + having decent gear 180-190ish can get you up to 1.6k due to inflation and not dropping rating, it’s literally the easiest gearing of my life. 1.8 took me a week of casually joining voice only RBGs with people who had high XP, low CR.
I think my only problem with the gearing situation is that theres a 9,000+ cap, and 2v2 wins only give 25 points per win. 360+ wins to catch up to that cap? I miss MoP where you could get your catch up cap done and nearly fully gear an alt in a weekend.
i get why they changed that, being able to gear a fresh alt through pvp in a weekend would just break PVE. everyone would be 220+ ilvl and it would make anything but mythic raiding too easy, but its such a DRAG to complete a catch up cap. Watching vanguards get carried by Smexxin to get Shamguards (his shaman alt) gear and its just a grind.
I don’t recall a single time in a raid that I’ve been swarmed with cc chains, having to fake cast, etc. to heal a tank/DPS in them, and I’ve been doing them since around the time you were born(if you’re actually 15).
So, going to disagree there. RBGs are literally PVP by definition of the term ‘player versus player.’ Your opinion of the difficulty of the content doesn’t change that. lol Anyway, gotta straighten up the house before my girlfriend gets here, God speed my man.
It’s actually quite surprising / weird based on how these forums are moderated to see this sort of trolling go on for so long in multiple threads. But then again you know the reasons why I stopped posting in a lot of it as there’s zero objectivity.
It’s also a risk to even post in these types of threads based on that.
Yes. you’re only 1.4 in 3s which is the main PvP bracket for WoW. A lot of the same things you see in RBGs happens in 3s but you don’t have 7 other people to save you, just your 3 vs their 3 so every CD and every move matters even more and gets more and more fast paced the further you climb.
If you experienced duelist 3s vs duelist RBGs, you’ll see a MASSIVE difference in skill levels.
I 100% agree with you on that. It’s my first season doing pvp, hoping to delve into arena a little more in the future.
Sounds a lot like ranked or rated pvp to me
Sure, everyone needs a warrior in their RBG team.
Obvious “git gud” troll is obvious /yawn
Yeah those people are stubborn, lazy and stupid. Start working for your gear and stop asking for handouts.
Youre delusional to think this.
159 entry level gear upgradable tied to PVE renown. Total suckage.
Used to be able to get your honor set without any pve then do your 10 wins and get BIS pvp gear. It was simple and easy. This new crapfest is pathetic to say the least
Shadowlands PvP is easily the best gearing I’ve seen in WoW, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect. We can clearly see the problems with it right now where alts and new players have no realistic method to gear up or progress in the ladder because they can’t win games. When you play 1 game every 20 to 30 mins and 7 out of 10 of those are losses due to significant gear disparity, there’s a problem.
They needed to scale up honor gains each week as the conquest cap went up.
For example, honor for each loss should go up 20% each week, honor for a win should go up 15%, conquest for a win up 1% and after a certain point you should probably get conquest for losses too.
They also need to find a way to make versatility a PvP stat and useless to the PvE crowd. BIS PvE gear should not be PvP items just like BIS PVP items shouldn’t be PvE gear. With the trinket it should be easy to make versatility worthless in PvE without the PvP trinket bonus and that shouldn’t be active in raids and dungeons.
So I will give Blizzard credit. They’ve certainly made progress. But they have missed the mark in places too. And missed it big.
speaking of this, is it out of line to ask for a model update to the gm/hwl models? they did bt in tomb for pve— why not pvp? I’m sitting on a few 3 pixel sets I’d love to mog but they haven’t aged well.
actually I would like to mention t1-t5 as well, some of the coolest sets in the game if they weren’t 144p
I could definitely be wrong but WoW PvP for me is only superior to other MMO pvp systems because of an extremely polished combat system. Well that and the lack of a pay to win aspect… cough But the WoW PvP gearing system has always been the weakest link. Most of the egregious issues have been gear-based. Whether it’s acquisition or balance.
LOL YOU FUNNY GUY
I’m lost are you trying to accuse me of being somebody else? Because you can 100% see I’ve never posted on another character.
It’s only a problem because people massively outgear their brackets. In 2s you find ~215+ ilvl from 1300 onwards where the “reward” is only 200.
There should be a CR floor once you hit each bracket. If you play with a low CR friend, then you should both play against people in the higher bracket.
We all know a WOD style system is best. Fact.
My opinion is in tandem with the OP; if you don’t like the gearing system find a different game. It’s been around a decade and most people like it.
