If you could only have one toon

Night elf Druid, for all the reasons you already know.

In my current mood, Paladin. Protection Paladin is very good in terms of it’s kit. Retribution is fun and easy.

Race: Draenei or Lightforged Draenei love them both.

belf paladin’s forever.
:cherries:

Without doubt my human ret paladin. While other toons have taken the spotlight at various times over the years, he is my undisputed main. What more could i want from a toon? Fun rotation, good damage, great survivability. Plus the paladin/holy warrior fantasy has always appealed to me.

When I came back to TWW I did a character purge, and the warband design was pretty helpful in this regard as I could set it up very logically.

Alliance/Horde - Cloth
Alliance/Horde - Leather
Alliance/Horde - Mail
Alliance/Horde - Plate

With no camp needing more than 4 slots I purged a bunch of one-off characters I made for one reason or another that I had no attachment to. To be honest I don’t really even play the bulk of these characters anyways, but at least it’s organized now.

If I ever need to make one-off characters (for like heritage armor or something) I’ll probably make a camp and cycle characters as needed.

I would pick my paladin, I can do either solo or group content with ease and I enjoy the gameplay. The class fantasy is also appealing to me.

Shaman.

Realistically I’m biased because it was 1 of my first 2 real characters when I started. I had a Paladin. Then a handful of months later when I bought TBC (this was all during WotLK), I made a Shaman. I either alternated or just mained both of those for years. The Paladin was usually Holy though, and changes to healing in WoD made me drop the role for awhile, so the Paladin became a sometimes-alt and mostly the Shaman stuck around. And it’s stuck around for every expansion but Legion (where I played Spriest because the rework seemed cool - and regretted it fairly early on due to constant whiplashing balance hotfixes even post S2M, will never touch a multi-DoT spec again).

So I don’t know if there’s actually anything about Shaman objectively that I like enough to keep playing it, or if it’s just comfortable because I’ve played one for so long even though the way it plays has changed drastically multiple times.

Dragonflight was really cool with the Wildfire Build. Constant, and I mean CONSTANT procs, basically just machine gunning out instant cast lava surges at all times. It was degenerate so they didn’t keep it around, but it was fun while it lasted.

TWW started off kind of slow and braindead in a less interesting way, but it was also kind of nice to not have to think too hard to do well. Then it got reworked in 11.0.5 and now it’s crazy. Much more complicated, but now it’s a 3 minute burst spec and that burst is very fun in both single target and AoE.

When you say ā€œonly one toonā€ it’s easy to just say something like Paladin, Monk, or Druid, because they can fulfil every role. But realistically I think I’d rather play a class I know I enjoy than one that just happens to be a bit more versatile with its specs.

I’d have to at least consider Paladin, because I KNOW I like modern Prot Paladin. But I think I’d decide against it because I haven’t really loved Holy since MoP and I’m meh on Ret (but that’s partially due to not really trying the most recent versions of it, I will one day).

Edit: Shaman description was referring to Elemental. I play that spec 95% of the time. Enhancement is a fun distraction now and again, and Resto is functional, but Ele is my bread and butter.

Already there. 2 name changes since 2009 but same toon. I wish toons could keep their post count after name change. Crud now I can’t remember what my name was before it was ā€œToysā€ maybe it was ā€œMynamehereā€.

*at the moment.

In a month it might go gang busters and leave Enhance in the dust. I feel like Enhance has been fairly consistent the last few years just all the other specs have been jumping above and below it.

This one has by far the most story written about her, so she wins regardless.

Would be a toss up between Shaman, Warrior, and Hunter. They’re the classes I’ve played the most since Wrath.

I could never get rid of any of my characters necessarily. I could maybe remake them if I had to, but will never get rid of them.

I currently have 33 characters, 21 or 22 of which are 80, the rest are 70+.

BUT if I were forced to only keep a single character, it would be the OG Fury (SMF) Warrior I have had as my main since Vanilla. I don’t care that other characters are ā€œbetterā€. This is the only character that matters to me.

If I could only have one toon… I would quit and never come back.

In your case, choose the one you enjoy the most. However, if you truly cant decide, then use a Random Number Generator on the internet. Assign a number to each class/spec you like and use the randomizer for your decision. The arbitrary number given by the randomizer will either be a choice you like, or it will force you to make a decision.

Just Google ā€œrandom number generatorā€. Good luck :slightly_smiling_face:

This guy for sure, only class I enjoy every single spec off (well, kinda disappointed in the current state of aug, but yknow)

That said, I’d be kinda worried about locking myself out of ever tanking even though it’s never been my main role

Meeee. :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated: I kind of wish we could be multiple classes on the same char.

In what context?

Ele and Enhance are both S Tier in M+ and are both middle of the pack in Raid (basically neck and neck constantly right next to each other in every difficulty @ 90th percentile).

And Ele was objectively better than Enh in M+ until the recent buffs (with ele still technically being a couple points ahead in logs).

Season 1 Enhancement was better, not by an insurmountable amount, but it was better.
Season 2 has been mostly Equal, leaning Ele.

Split between my Mage and Druid. I love both in terms of lore, aesthetics, and gameplay. I’ve parsed down my number of characters to just those two because I hate having an army of alts I enjoy for one specific reason or feel little for aside from basic gameplay.

I couldnt. Id have to move on to a game with alts.

One of the reasons I stay with WoW instead of ESO is I can have so many characters here. I think ESO gives you a handful free, then you have to pay for more.
