If you could change 1 thing to WoW, it would be?

Id make a long list of Ions pointless changes and revert them.

I would have a Chromie Time or an option at starting a new character that allows you to play through vanilla pre-Catalcysm zones/content, but with the current up to date mechanics, quality of life, transmogs, etc.

Classic WoW is fun, but more options and ways to play is always better.

End classes. All skills and talents available to all species, and earned xp can be spent on any attribute, skill, or talent.

Remove scaling.

id replace every single person making it

I’d make scaling optional. If you want it click a box. If you don’t want it make sure the box is unchecked. It would be similar to war mode with how people phase for the content.

Change how gear is earned. Remote the Great Vault and use points to get gear you want. here is an example of how it could be done:

PvE:

When expansion starts and we have the first tier, have a base tier be bought from vendors for Justice points earned from Heroic Dungeons, LFR and M0 which is all the same iLvl and everything but Rings, Trinkets, Weapons and Offhand is bought. Those are dropped from bosses doing those specific difficulties.

Tier 1 is bought with Valor points earned from Normal / Heroic / Mythic raids or M+ 1 and higher. Harder difficulties earned more Valor points. Can spend points to buy Tier 1 gear from vendors except Rings, Trinkets, Weapons and Offhands. Those only drop from bosses in the specific content.

Once purchased from a vendor, use Valor points to upgrade the gear to higher ranks up to a specific iLvl to do harder content. So if you only do Normal Raids or M+ like 1 - 5 for example, you have a iLvl cap you can hit. To increase the cap, must complete a Heroic Raid or higher M+. Doing so hits the next iLvl cap which you can do to do the next rank of difficultly.

If you only do M+, the caps are broken down based on the key and will eventually equal same iLvl as Mythic Raids. So M+ 1 - 5 will end up being equal to Normal Raids at M+5, M+ 6 - 10 will equal heroic iLvl at M+10, M+ 11 - 15 will equal Mythic iLvl at M+15. Cap stops at the current Tier.

The gear the drops from bosses from raids can’t be upgraded but the M+ versions can be upgraded up to the current cap for the range and then would need to get the next range to drop at that point.

Then once the next raid tier comes up, Tier 1 is bought with Justice Points, Tier 0 is bought with gold from vendors. New tier is bought with Valor points earned same way as above and all points are reset when the new tier comes out by converting Valor Points to Justice Points.

Next tier has a new iLvl range and cap and you would need to start by buying the gear from the vendors for Valor Points as before and getting the drop for the other slots from bosses to then upgrade.

PvP:

Get a complete Tier 0 or base gear for all slots bought from vendors with gold, next Tier is bought with Honor Points, last tier with Conquest points. As a new tier comes up, the Tier that was bought with honor changes to gold, Conquest to Honor and the new tier with Conquest.

Lastly make PvE gear useless in PvP by disabling effects, lowering stats or adding PvP only stats to PvP gear. Same with PvP gear, disable effects / lower stats when used in PvE content.

Will need to tweak the M+ keys for upgrades, and numbers tweak for costs, but something similar to the above would be an improvement I feel.

While I agree here, I wouldn’t remove the “3 pillars” entirely, they would be there for those people that enjoy that type of content, but I would definitely put more effort into the open world and ensure those players are getting their own progression system that is just as meaningful for their content as the “3 pillars” progression systems are for theirs.

Other thing I might change is how Mythic+ works to a degree. How I would have it go is, every time a new affix is added there would be no timer, allow players to get aquatinted with how the affix works then next level up key would add a timer.

Honestly?

I’d change how toxicity is dealt with in this game. Give people harsh penalties for ruining the experience for others.

Put a lockout on Mythic+ (and normalize its EoD/Vault rewards to compensate).

I have a few ideas for how exactly to implement that since it obviously wouldn’t work with the standard M0 / Raid lockout, but this isn’t the thread for that.

Fight me.

Aye, likely would. Hence why I said “Not a great idea”. I would just find such an event interesting to watch is all. While the game is not in the best state in my opinion, I do still care for the world and would love to see it rise again.

I also could not think of just ‘1’ thing to change so I picked something I would find interesting to see the results of.

Maximum 5 month long tiers.

As a priest, sometimes we do it to stop healing that person over and over and over… :innocent:

As a different priest, sometimes I do it because the person typed “HEAL ME” in chat and didn’t use a single defensive the whole run, and I want them to suffer.

I feel you completely. I typically give them a “renew” and wish good luck!

One thing I was thinking about recently is how cool it would be if enemies dropped “cool” items at a super low drop rate. I’m talking like 1 in 10 million. Blizzard could get creative with these drops and they don’t have to be gear or items that make your toon stronger. Some possible things could be:

  • bag with 2 extra slots
  • an item with 50 charges that allows teleportation to any covenant hall
  • old mounts with a VERY low drop rate?

I just remember playing RPGs as a kid and loving the feeling of getting that super rare drop. The way it is now everything is data mined and there is just nothing cool that you can get from a random mob. The best case scenario is you get a decent BOE that you can sell for several thousand gold, but many players have all the gold they need.

The main thing I like about playing a healer is that you can pvp with your own faction! Rude people somehow stop getting direct healing from me and die, oh well :woman_shrugging: they’re stuck in an 8 second trap? But the nice person has moonfire. I’ll use my dispel on moonfire

Bring back dailies (or world quests if you want to call them that now) for
marks. Then bring back the marks vendor that sells gear from LFG/LFR
as well as PVP gear.

Have marks earned through daily quests, instances, PVP, and pet battles.
That way everyone can gear through the content they like doing.

PVE people can gear up through instances as well as buying a item
that just wont drop for them.

Daily/world quest people can gear up to make those quests easier to do
as well as doing instances if they wish.

PVP people can gear through PVP. But also get gear to do other content as well.

Players that love pet battles can gear up for whatever they want to do just
doing what they love as well.

Of course the vendor would also sell special mounts, trasmog items, recipes,
and profession mats as well.
