I think adding more glyph options is a great way to diversify builds so they aren’t all carbon copies of themselves.
Rets have to decide which glyph to replace (probably the free expertise one once they hit the cap) and I think it would be interesting to have something similar with titan grip for warriors to help with their dps.
Ret utility is being way overblown by some. They’re useful but by no means are they necessary since every other class has a shared ability with the exception of DSac/AM and those are easily provided by the other pally builds (without having to waste talent points like Rets do)
The comparison is being made in comparison to same tier specs like Fury - who also have no unique buffs but have far less buffs to offer than Ret. Edit: not quite true actually - Fury can cast Heroic throw, so that sort of puts pay to my point here on reflection.
It’s a fair comparison too as Blizzard themselves are benchmarking Ret performance against Fury in this tier.
On a side note we’ve got some good data coming in now for higher gear levels (finally) and it appears that Fury and Ret are virtually neck and neck - Fury pulling very slightly ahead right at the top. On this metric it appears Blizzard have hit a bullseye on the mark they were aiming at with the Ret buff.
Edit x 2: I am shifting my view a bit to a much more optimistic view of Fury scaling. Current parse data is looking encouraging. The gap between A tier and B/C tier is much smaller this phase than it was in Nax. But Ret are holding their own as well. Will be interesting to see how both perform in ICC.
That is good to hear, Riger. I did spot the last logs for this week, and Ret/Fury are pretty much dead even.
“WOW the ret muscle in this image is CLEARLY larger, way to brag over fury warriors”.
He’s taller too ><
not to mention why are the rets getting to be represented by Schwarzenegger who is a very well known actor while fury is represented by the lesser known Carl Weathers? INJUSTICE.
(I really liked Weathers in Arrested Development)
