If you are truly having fun in the current version of WoW, either classic or retail im not going to bash you for that. If you enjoy the grinds, the pvp, the raids, the mythic+ whatever it is, then good for you. If that sounds sarcastic, I dont mean it as such. In fact, I envy you. Im jealous that you are still enjoying this game. I cant. But thats not what this is about.
If you AREN’T having fun, or think that something is missing from your MMORPG. Something like story, player housing, community, robust crafting, music, a change of art style, and the JOURNEY rather than the destination, then please just give another game a try.
I spent many years in this game hoping it would become something its not, and likely never will be. Im kicking myself for not trying another MMORPG years ago. There is better out there. There is hope.
If you just want a lobby game thats all about the instanced content, and to get to max level as efficiently as possible and turn the game into an excel file, and you genuinely enjoy that, then stay right where you are.
I already play other games when I feel like it. Only having one thing that you do in your free time likely is not healthy. You can try other things too, like books or exercise.
ARK is rather fun right now, even if our server’s primal fear mods aren’t working quite right on the new map.
Wow is surviving on previous xpacks wow content creators are now streaming ff14. They consistently put out content despite the pandemic. Nobody wants wow to fail but no king rules forever and the king blizzard shot themselves in the mouth forget the foot.
FFXIV’s forums are like being in the mirror universe from these forums. Almost no complaints just people helping each other out and when there is a complaint, its like this long drawn out thing about the color of a hat or something.
I tried ESO several times and just couldnt get into it. I played several hours without seeing another person. I really wanted to get into it but game felt empty.
It’s a game not a marriage. If you really get this this attached to your forms of entertainment I think you need to reassess, and maybe talk to someone who is not in a forum about it.
So how many more posts til you get your chocobo toaster?
It actually a lot simpler then that, I personally believe most wow players would love ff14 if they gave it a genuine shot. And if more people move to 14 maybe that will get blizzard/Activision to make their game better. Starting with bringing it to console. Lots of console players would love to play wow but gatekeeing is good i guess.
That was largely the point of my post. I wont make another thread about it, I wont spam but I would be ashamed of myself if I didn’t just make the attempt to let people know how amazing it is, IF you want that sort of game. Not everyone does, and thats okay.
Its like discovering the most amazing restaurant but all your friends heard bad things about it. But you KNOW how amazing it is. Trying to walk a line between convincing them but not want to come off as evangelizing.
I gave it a shot. Made it to max level and started the end game…and then quickly realized how horrible FF14 is.
I highly doubt it. You don’t try to fix a 16 year old game past the end of its life cycle. They will keep producing content as long as it’s profitable…but I wouldn’t expect any significant overall changes at this point.
