If you are AFK when the AV queue reaches the one hour mark, you are disconnected

Title. Doesn’t seem to matter if you were AFK the whole time or not, but it seems that as long as you are AFK at the 1 hour mark of the queue, then you will be disconnected from BNet.
Edit: I’m not even sure you have to be afk, just get kicked at approx the 1 hour mark.

at around 50-55 min mark interact with something, buy a cheap vendor item… someone mentioned that yesterday and since I have been doing it, my dc at hour mark stopped.

Really wish this was fixed. I just sat in queue for an hour only to be disconnected at approx 1 hour, despite interaction with my character throughout the 1 hour wait. And since I wasn’t at my keyboard when I was disconnected, by the time I logged back in I was removed from my current queue.

This is probably the most frustrating bug in recent history. The hour plus long queues are hard enough to stomach - now you get disconnected around the hour mark… is there a list of actions that are considered “good enough” to keep you from being disconnected?

Is there any hope this gets fixed this week? Does Blizzard even read these forums?

I get disconnected even if I’m not AFK now. This is stupid.

the definition of ‘AFK’ here is expanded because the reason this happens is to disconnect players purposely running in to walls and other such logout prevention tricks. it was changed after a month of classic launch to remediate the massive login queues and people were running into things all over the place to stayed logged in throughout the day.

it only became noticed by AVers because of the queue changes this past patchday doubled the queue and passed the magic hour marker.

the fix should probably be reverted now that login queues arent a thing but apparently it still helps make some of the more populated realms tolerable. c’est la vie

YEah, I discovered this was the case as well just a couple days ago. At least we know it’s not a bug and that it can probably be reverted if and as soon as Blizzard decides it’s no longer needed. :frowning:

please fix this its bull

Im a little confused by cases like this. If you were actually AFK, as in not in front of your computer to see the disconnect—you would have missed your queue anyway?

They wont fix anything because they dont care.

legit screwing players out of 1 hr 30 min queues and we dont even get a response after 2 weeks. Blizzard is a joke, absolutely no customer service or player driven devilment. We all just need to face it, Blizzard doesnt care about the player base anymore.

That’s only if the queue popped while I was afk and didn’t see it. In this case, the queue has anywhere from 5 to 20 minutes left when you reach the 1 hour mark and get auto-disconnected.

If your minimized for over 6 minutes you get disconnected aswell and unable to connect to WoW as some form of anti bot bs or something.

I’ve lost about 10-12 hours of my time this week because of this trash. Its stressing me out. I’m going to lose rank this week because of it.

I think you get about 1 minute to log back in and still be in the queue. If you happen to be reading something, or just looking at something else for longer than a minute when you get disconnected, then that is an hour+ of your life wasted, because you get taken out of the queue.

Thanks Blizzard for this cool feature!

Yup, I’ve had people I know in game quit over this “feature”. I don’t think it’s necessary anymore, but if they aren’t going to change they could at least give you a little more time to get logged back in before removing you from the queue.

Bumping this to the top, was wondering why I kept getting DCed in AV queues even though I was hitting the space bar to prevent AFK.
