I really don’t think the races in Shadowlands can even exist on our world. But it’d be pretty cool if we got a compromise in the form of something like a Warforged.
What’s a Warforged? Basically the DnD version of a robot with a soul. They can be metal or stone in some depictions like a stone golem.
What if there was a type of anima fueled Warforged that could come to our world?
As for Classes, honestly the only thing I see them NOT being would be Demon Hunters. Since their souls don’t go to the Shadowlands. Well Illidan’s didn’t I mean. And possibly Rogue given that metal and stone aren’t exactly quiet.
Warrior: Warforged in Eberron were built to be super soldiers so this fits Priest: Literal Heal Bot Shaman: Electricity while being made of stone or metal. They could share a little connection with Azeroth just with their bodies being what they’re made out of Hunter: Maaaaaybe since pretty much any race in the game can be a hunter Druid: BEASTWARS ahem sorry. I mean they could be blessed from Ardenweald. Allowing them to basically be a transformer Mage: Magic could have a hand in their creation. Also you can make a lot of heater and ac jokes with fire and frost spec Monk: This one also goes into the “maaaaaaybe” pile Paladin: Similar to Druids they could be blessed with a soul from Bastion. Maybe they pop out blue wings instead of gold ones. Death Knight: A soul in a “corpse” of metal or stone? Seems pretty fitting for a Death Knight Warlock: As much as I love Warlocks I’m not sure they’d fit as one. Sure a soul using Soul Drain would fit thematically but hmm
There’s literally zero evidence of this. In fact there’s more evidence pointing towards that they can cross into our world. I can elaborate if you’d like.
Only the spirit healers are close to the barrier between our world and theirs. The other closest thing would be The Drust but they’re not native to the shadowlands
Okay. I see where you’re mixed up. So I want you to, for a moment, think of three worlds. Azeroth, Limbo, and the Shadowlands. What happens in WoW is that when souls die they’re in a stage called limbo. This isn’t really its own reality but it’s an area inbetween both realms. Though it’s more into the Shadowlands than anything else. This is where the Spirit Healers operate.
The spirit healer’s job is to evaluate a soul and see if they are ready to move on. If they are, the Spirit Healer will call down a carrier to bring the soul to Oribos.
Now, the reason why these races can’t go to our realm in full yet is because they haven’t had a way to get there. Until now.
As for the Drust, they have their own plane in the Shadowlands. It’s Thros. The thing about the Drust is that they just want to return to the cycle of Life and Death, by any means necessary.
I meant more “No they literally exist to just do stuff in the shadowlands”. If they’re crossing over to our side then they’re not doing their job in Shadowlands
That’s why I like the idea of a warforged type. Imagine if a soul goes into a shell so they can help people themselves. Without basically forcing the “employees” to do adventurer work?
They can actually do their job through Azeroth. Albeit in different ways.
Kyrian - Their job is to evaluate souls or carry them into the Shadowlands. Seeing as how the Kyrian are kind of a bit low on resources (currently), it’s actually a good thing if they had a person on Azeroth signalling to them where to pick up souls. Especially wicked ones.
Necrolords - Their one and only job is to protect the Shadowlands. By any means necessary. If that requires them to more closely work with their greatest allies, then by all means.
Night Fae - Their job is to protect nature and keep the cycle going. Their realm is really starved for anima. If they exist on the other side and are killing those who’d hurt nature, they’re providing Anima and keeping the cycle going.
Venthyr - Their job is to punish and reform sinners. I think there’s quite a bit of baddies to be punished. If the Venthyr can turn some people, they’re just doing their job in the living realm.
Also, their job for all four could just be to make sure souls worthy of going to the Maw go there. I highly doubt the Covenants in full will all go to Azeroth. I’m thinking more along the lines of a Mag’har Orc-sized group.
