Ehhh it seems like that would upset the balance of life and death much like how Sylvanas is in her own way.
Also if the races in the shadowlands die on our world, wouldn’t they have to be sorted by the arbiter? It’s all just pointlessly complicated if we try that.
Imagine if instead if your anima fueled golem dies, the soul goes back and another soul takes its place inside the body. A literal extra life system
Well the player characters are a bit different since they can keep coming back. I’d imagine that if a Covenant player character dies, they’d get the new Shadowlands animation.
If they actually die, they’d probably go to the Shadowlands again. Like demons. If they’re killed there, then they’re perma-dead. I’m working under the assumption that the hole in the sky gets patched up btw.
It doesn’t upset the balance at all. Once a soul enters the Shadowlands with their down payment of Anima, there’s no real balance that’s hurt afterwards. What’s been hurting the Shadowlands is not the lack of new people, but Anima.
I get ya.
I just like the idea of a soul going “yay my turn!” and popping into a golem.
It’d be neat if sometimes when they die their voice goes from male to female kinda at random to hint that it’s a different soul.
Heck this could even help the people that want more lgbt stuff. A shell that can have any gender inside it? There’s a trans allegory right there. Imagine being a male soul but the shell is female and it’s not played as a joke. The soul would just be “Okay I think I can work with this. Maybe. We’ll see.” as they respawn. Sure they could swap parts at a barber if the player wants. Not gonna restrict people when it comes to that.
One of their silly options could be they’re a social construct! This stuff writes itself
The idea of playing a vampire race has a lot of appeal to me since feeding on blood is sort of my thing. However, the aesthetics have to be right. The Venthyr easily will be my preferred covenant.
I mean sindorei ( and void elves I guess ) are already a form of vampire. Just not with blood.
