“But what about MeEeEeEE?”
You and your “friends” can go warmode right now, enjoy, genius. This isn’t about you.
Are you so afraid if they made us a single PvP server, your “friends” would all go there and leave you high and dry? That says a lot.

I don’t get this mentality. From the very start we could pick what server we could. I specifically chose pvp server. People that didn’t want it, specifically chose pve servers.
And still I had to be forced into having that disappear with a bootleg mode being added.
Why does it bother you that much that we’re in a server where you’re not affected at all?
Like, we really said “yes please” and you, someone who isn’t affected in the slightest, have a problem with it.
That’s wild
I remember people who would complain about:
Those people are still going to complain, even if they get their way to some extent. it’ll just be one wave after another, like the High-Elf crowd for instance — Enough will never be enough.
PvP to be removed with Wintergrasp or the Arena would defeat the purpose of why it’s there … Albeit sometimes Blizzard go forward with changes regardless of removing the values within the gameplay.
Warmode is a solid answer to the problem. Especially when a server inevitably gets unbalanced
Now, the current problem is that expansions don’t start like BFA enticing PvP world battles.
Now people are flying at Warp 11, Mach Banana peel.
They’re slippery than HI-T and can disengage faster than you can imagine the word serendipity.
Also, phasing is still aggressive and people will despawn while fighting them. The whole game is designed to put us in these little empty universes where unless you’re in a group, no one is there.
And CRZ stuff. The good world battles are left to Season of Discovery and phase 2 classic
Did you read the words I wrote?
If my friends invite me to the PvP server, then they have a problem, now don’t they? I either say, ‘no, I’d rather not’ and they have to decide if they want to create multiple sets of characters, one for the PvE server and one for the PvP server, or play without a full set of friends since we’re now hard-separated by the server gap.
You’re so desperate for your gank sandbox that you’re blinding yourself to the actual argument in front of yourself.
true blizzard should do it. this way when the pvp server die ppl stop posting the same thing over and over on this forum
LMAO you really can’t see past the end of your own nose, can you? Hopeless.
Just admit you don’t have a counterpoint to the forced choice that made PvP servers such a bother to begin with. With War Mode, a player doesn’t have to make a choice between playing with friends or playing with a preferable ruleset, you can have both.
Oh, you’ll have me pretend it hasn’t been explained to you multiple times yet you always choose to ignore the counterpoints? No thanks. Stay selfish.
Because you don’t have a counterpoint to the reality that it forces a choice that shouldn’t need to exist. PvP servers forced a choice between playstyle and friend group, and thankfully we found better ways around it. Just like how cross-faction is a step toward being able to play with your friends without having to compromise on your favorite race to play as.
If your friends want to play on a pvp server and you don’t…that’s not a us problem that’s a you problem, and unfortunately your 15 is no more important than anyone else.
You may not like pvp, and that’s fine but an actual pvp server wouldn’t hurt anyone and no one is forced to play on said server.
Also if the majority of my friends played a pvp or any server I didn’t play on, I would roll a toon on it to hang out with my friends and not ignore/force them to re roll for me.
So if you enjoy watching movies at home but your friends enjoy watching movies in the movie theater, your friends should just be forced to watch the movie at home you because you feel uncomfortable otherwise? Because, they still get to “watch” the movie, right? Everyone “wins” in your opinion? That’s basically what you are saying. Your “friend” needs to play the game the way you think it should be. And this is on the very broad assumption they would even leave a normal server in the first place. If war mode is the same thing as a pvp server as you claim, there is no reason they would leave, correct?
And yet you continued with a but.
This is where it should stop. The situation you described would probably happen, I have no doubt. However to list this as some sort of any thing but laughable attempt to deny an optional server choice is what is what should be labeled as incorrect here.
Again:
Again, let’s flip the script. Let’s say my friends want me to join their server. However, they also know I loathe PvP. Now they have a choice forced on them; keep playing on the PvP server with the ruleset they prefer but they don’t get to play with me, or play on a PvE server with me, a ruleset they don’t enjoy, and having to start completely fresh.
It works both ways. It’s always an unnecessary choice that War Mode fixes.
I would be a good friend and play with them not force them to chose.
This situation would happen. It did happen. There are several people in this thread recounting their experience back when PVP servers were in the game. This is not the only example where an optional selection has an impact on more than just those which take a particular option. It would benefit your argument much more to acknowledge this and explain why it’s worth having that decision point in the game than continually denying that it exists in the first place.
So that means I have to compromise on the server type I enjoy to play with my friends.
I really don’t have a horse in this race, I’d just stick to my current server if they added a new PvP server to the game. What I will say, since I have seen it brought up a few times, is that War Mode really does address what I think is the biggest downside of PvP/PvE servers. Starting over if you wanted to switch things up was not ideal. If you wanted to play with a friend in a PvP server, you needed a character over there. If you wanted to play with a friend on a PvE server, you needed a character there. It added complexity that really didn’t bring anything else with it. War Mode isn’t empty because of no PvP servers, it is empty because people don’t want to be harassed in the open world. The only other thing that was unique to PvP servers was having it available at level 1, whereas you can only enter War Mode at 20.
Let’s pretend my friends and I are going to get ice cream. I want chocolate (PvE Realm), and they all want vanilla (PvP Realm).
I decide there’s no way I’m compromising and my friends can come get chocolate with me, or they can go get vanilla and I’m not coming.
Do you not see the childishness in this decision on my part?
Wait, it get’s better - rather than just deny my friends vanilla ice cream, I want to make sure that nobody ever gets offered vanilla ice cream again so I never have this “forced” choice.
I’m sorry, but this is a completely childish argument and isn’t any reason not to allow people to have vanilla ice cream or PvP realms.
So when does the Vanilla ice cream (PvE) get brought to the Chocolate ice cream (PvP)? Because my friends and I still don’t get to get together to enjoy the ice cream together, we all have to choose one or the other.
War Mode lets us all enjoy the ice cream together, to use your very tortured analogy.
