Hi again buch, if we were to get a pvp server and blizz didn’t try and enforce some semblance of balance would you be willing to roll an alt to help with pvp on the other side. I’ve done it with a few friends it’s not too bad.
If the server is true to the past you may not be able to have different factions on the same PVP realm. I would hope that would not come back in this thought experiment but it is something to watch out for in your requests.
Yeah I’ll join whatever side needs it the most. I’ll even start a community dedicated to keeping both sides balanced if necessary. I really do appreciate all the support on this thread. I think the next step is figuring out a way to get this in front of some sort of team on blizzards payroll that can bring this suggestion to light, and not just in the general forum.
1000000000%
Numbers make doing content easier (in some cases they are near mandatory, like world bosses and some rares), so you have the same sort of piling-on effect as players fleeing to high pop servers when it comes to Warmode vs. Non-Warmode.
Even if I’d prefer to do content in PvP (and so would so many other people), we have limited time and default to unflagging ourselves to get something accomplished during our play session. And it feels bad
There need to be more incentives to flag Warmode, but more importantly this would be solved by having our traditional PvP servers back. At least one. IMAGINE the community building if it was always the same names and guilds doing world content - the good old days.
Right. More community based rather than 1-2 random people phasing in to war mode with the shard system or whatever and then never see them again
We’ve been over this. The sharding problem is not War Mode’s fault. War Mode works exactly as-designed, it puts people together for PvP scenarios. Hell, just last night I was flagged going through Wingrest and a ?? Rogue was camping the entire area with ~850K health. Four other Hordies and myself were basically in ghost form waiting for the Rogue to fly away (who they then doubled-back and re-ganked everyone present) and even the expedition ‘guards’ were nothing to them.
So, uh, yeah, that’s about what you can expect from PvP servers. A gray screen, a res timer, and a waste of two hours trying to do the Embassy intro quests.
Your experience with pvp is not everyone’s. I do just fine in what’s available for l pvp with a priest. And it’s not like youll be joining us on this server anyways. So you have nothing to worry about
Your primary argument has been ‘oh woe is the PvPer, for sharding forever denies them a meaningful battle or opportunity to revenge or defend’ and yet here’s a battle that never happened, a defense that never mounted.
Like I’ve said, sharding is the problem, not War Mode.
SoD is doing very well with balanced pvp servers. Maybe blizzard is testing this, and if it works, bring it to retail? Just a hopeful thought
You cannot have good PVP in WOW unless you leave each class with 4 buttons and remove all items from equation. Notice how LOL build, ever wondered why?
I would disagree. I think it used to be great 10 years ago. That’s what we are asking for
I still hope we get a pvp server and they can put up like 3 pop ups warning people that you will engage in pvp on a pvp server
^ When you think the apex of PvP gaming was Pong (or don’t think or care about PvP at all).
There’s much more to a PvP experience than total balance. No, the ideal for WoW PvP players isn’t Pong. It’s being able to immerse yourself in that experience - Warmode does not offer that.
Hard to immerse yourself into being ganked by premade.
Skill issue.
And carebears can stay on carebear realms, you’ll be safe Eàu I promise.
That aside - yeah, for RPPvP players the risk of PvP / death increases our immersion, it doesn’t diminish it.
Waiting for your stream where you 1 vs 5, otherwise I accept you losing argument,
ez.
Good luck with the economy.
We dont want you on the server anyways. Problem solved.
So you… just stopped reading there or?
Exactly. Why War mode isn’t the same. Pvp wasn’t always the main objective in pvp servers.
They got their fight, win or loss they got their fight. Not every paladin I ran past in old pvp days attacked and bubble hearthed.
As to your second part, Okay? Sure. You go and think that.
That is an opinion one can have about that interaction yes.
It isn’t different really but that wasn’t really what I was talking about though.
Interesting. I don’t see how that is achieved with warmode but sure.
No… not at all what I said what? You didn’t get anything but I’m super hyped on the self confidence you have.
Now I’m probably wrong but I’m fairly sure WM was the answer or at least one of the answers to the servers not being balanced in the first place and now you can just turn off the server type you’re on. No need to find a solution because it can be avoided.
As horde I don’t bother with war mode due to the alliance bias that continues to exist for some stupid reason. War mode always overly littered with alliance and has been since the change.
Make Tich full time PvP again
