With the logic that some bad pvper did a bad thing we could probably get rid of all interactions.
Some people ERP which means all rpers must ERP based on the logic in this thread. Therefore we must remove all rp realms.
In the past people would abuse guild members somehow, toss out guilds.
People troll in dungeons everyone has to do AI dungeons now, same thing for raids.

From my experience wpvp was only fun if both sides were similarly balanced which always seemed to drop off over time.
wpvp zones seemed like they should have been the answer. I’m guessing the zones died over time due to lack of long term incentives or goals. I remember wintergrasp being stupid because some realms were dominated by one faction so the minority was just locked out of ever doing the raid.
The only times I know where wpvp has thrived had been where communities put in mammoth amounts of effort to make it that way. Everywhere else just kinda stank.
Maybe with just one pvp server and zero sharding you could get what you want, I just don’t know if you’d get enough people to maintain a server and keep it faction balanced, especially if anyone still wanted to mythic raid with their existing communities.
hoping for a server that doesnt need sharding. It might be up to the community to balance it, but if it was only 1 server, players might be more active in trying to keep it even

I flagged myself for PvP for years and no one came to get me.
War mode is a broken system unfortunately
That’s the problem though, those servers were intended for people who wanted to engage in PvP. People who didn’t had options. They could reroll if they didn’t realize the difference at first, it usually didn’t take long to figure out, so you weren’t losing much. They could transfer if they were already heavily invested in their toon.
Instead they complained until the people who were actually using the servers as intended got forced into WM.

Turn War-mode on and go to any world event. Notice anything odd? Oh, there is no one there.
Now Imagine being a PvP player who used to play on a dedicated PvP server.
To get the same experience, you would have to fly back and forth to switch War-mode each time you join or leave an event.
PvE players don’t get it, PvP players have to jump through hoops to do world content. We aren’t just looking for a fight.
PvP servers main issue was faction imbalance. SoD is experimenting with forced server balancing and I can tell you from personal experience that this experiment is working for the greater good. Blizzard had been afraid of putting these restrictions into retail, instead deciding to go down the War-mode route.
Now Hardcore servers exist. If I wanted to play Wow with my hardcore friends, I would be forced to participate in the hardcore rule set. But I don’t want to lose hundreds of hours in character progression. So, to elevate this issue, Blizzard could implemented a feature to let me opt out of hardcore mode any time I want and still play with my hardcore friends.
We have classic, we have Wrath-Cata, we have SoD, and we have Hardcore.
And you are saying creating a dedicated PvP server for retail would be too much?
we can’t really do warmode, because of the gear disparity. PVP gear gets scaled down, no one can fight. That’s why there’s only fighting in the pvp zones for the sparks quest.
You have to get mythic amidrassil gear to participate in warmode now… not everyone can do that.
If pvp gear didn’t scale down and there wasn’t phasing between zones then warmode would be fine and active.
I did enjoy my time on PvP servers. Bring back 1 or 2 (the 2nd being RPPvP).

Also, if you want to make more of a difference and have a better chance at actually seeing a pvp server someday, consider submitting an in game suggestion form in the support menu. I did it and and listed a few benefits to allowing a pvp server to exist.
