It’s been that way for years Bunh, that’s the exact reason I gave up over this situation years ago. We’re the minority to speak out so those that are louder generally gets blizzards attention at the end of the day it’s a corporation making money. I would love to see retail receive the type of feedback SoD has from devs. Sadly it seems a bit neglected for whatever reason.
Even if we’re the minority however doesn’t mean there’s not tons of other people that share our values you also need to remember everyone’s not into forum chat. Look at the pass success during wpvp peak and also take a look at classic wpvp. It’s there but poorly executed in retail.
I’ve been playing this game since TBC. I’ve seen toxicity in all aspects and levels of this game. I do what I enjoy and have time for and try not to poke my head into things I know will bother me
That will always be in video games, if there is a place to voice an opinion there will be separation or bias. Some people also enjoy to stir the pot for no reason. It is what it is lol.
the vocal minority did indeed ruin pvp for everyone else, like has been posted before that people would show up to play with friends then get mad pvp happened. I watched it happen for years when people would come to ED for the RP and somehow miss the PVP tag and would cry about pvp happening. The problem being is the same group of people would complain here on general when they got told to shove it from other pvp forums. So it looked like a lot of people complain when, lets be honest they were the minority in said realms.
why do you care if pvp players want a dedicated pvp realm? I’m pretty sure you and the others saying no wouldn’t be there, and if only 100 players showed up to the realm and had a blast that’s a good thing, right?
The argument that it splits the player base would be fair if it really mattered anymore with all the cross realm/cross faction even if 10% of all players went to pvp realms it still wouldn’t affect anyone else.
No, the majority ruled. It’s hard to accept sometimes, but you and everyone wanting a pvp server is in the true minority. So much so that Blizzard took away pvp servers and probably won’t bring them back. They really weren’t that popular. Well some were but had a ridiculously one sided faction imbalance.
I doubt it. Blizzard has the numbers/data. If it was truly popular they wouldn’t have taken it away in the first place.
I don’t. I’m just stating the facts.
I would not be there. I’m not against it. I’m just telling you what happened and why it probably won’t happen. If it does then all I can say is good for you.
I don’t think it splits the playerbase at all. This would still be a retail server and with cross server and more importantly lots of cross faction grouping is being implemented.
All I can say is multiple 40-man raid groups going up lifts into TB for “For the Alliance!” achievement and getting blown off by Thunderstorm was awesome. Idc who you are, that was hilarious to see ~16 years ago. I’d totally go on a PvP server just to experience that again, ha.
If you read what they say, they want a realm with unwilling pvp participants. Thats this whole “dont want people to be able to turn it off” thing comes from. There is a valid point about sharding, but that is a separate problem Blizz could make a few servers low/no shard servers like they do rp servers. That wouldnt require much at all for blizz to do.
So why I have WMON: only because of extra rewards, I avoid any sort of wPVP like cancer (which is what it is), I often experience that alliance premades are trying to gank me (probably the same people who want pvp only server), which I try to escape from. So as soon as extra reward is gone, WM would be turned off absolutely permanently. Because for “fair” PVP it has to be a different game and if PVP is not fair, why would I subject myself to it. Hence, the closest Blizzard came to a “fair” Pvp was HOTS game.
It went both ways, sometimes it could be city defense to a random throw of a spell of a lobie walking by just being realistic. However there was also rivalries and integrity and most importantly A COMMUNITY where you could help your guild mates or others in need of help… We want integrity and rivalries back. where I can go to the great out doors and battle it out with other like minded individuals in a random and organic breathable world. Especially from individuals I’ve fought multiple times before hand.
So, it is so easy to experience with WMON,
get fresh 60 toon and get to the Dragon Islands, the first village,
under 2 minutes there would be 2 alliance players body camping you,
call friends to assist you,
establish … rivalry?
do it with integrity?
Did I miss anything?
How about you wPVP lovers start with defending Wingrest Embassy and we go from there,
because right now your alliance players wrecking low levels there (for bidirectional fun of course).
Nope, not asking for “unwilling” pvp participation. People know exactly what they are signing up for on a pvp servers. And if you are not willing to accept that, we wouldn’t want you on the server. We are not forcing anyone to join. Unless you like to pvp every day, we do not want you on the server.
My responses are not “anti-pve”. I could not care less how pve-only players enjoy the game. On the contrary, it’s usually always pve-only players coming into threads like this to shoot down any ideas expressed by pvp players who want more pvp-related activities or ideas in the game.
Getting irritated at people repeatedly shouting “no” to a suggestion that would not affect them in the slightest is not tribalism.
We can pit each other’s anecdotal experiences against each other all day. As I said before, most of my time at max level always involved wpvp. People keep saying “nobody ever came when I was getting ganked” and I’ve said repeatedly that was literally my entire endgame. Ganking gankers. I played on Kil’jaeden, Kel’thuzad and Dragonmaw. Two of those three were among the highest-pop pvp servers from Cata - WoD.
I’d be interested to know what servers you played on that our experiences were so vastly different. Sometimes you need to be the change you want. How many times did you respond to WorldDefense pings? Were you even in the channel? I can guarantee that a lot people complaining about getting ganked didn’t even know there was a channel called WorldDefense, as it’s not enabled by default, you have to join it.
It isn’t, but you’re free to believe whatever you want.
I will repeat for you that I would’ve never had wmon if no extra rewards.
Also I believe there should be no factions so I could assist and do quests with every player.
