If we could just get 1 PvP server

On average I play wow 2-3 days a week. I would probably play every day if I could on a pvp server. World pvp used to be one of my favorite parts of wow. And as much as the PvE players cannot understand, war mode is not, and probably never will be, the same experience as a real pvp server.

Besides a dozen or two hours in classic, I haven’t played on a PVP server since very shortly after the launch of Cata, so I don’t know if this would be acceptable. But, since some of the arguments are about faction balance, would any of you with a bigger stake in the fight be okay if contested areas were instead free for all. Of course, like current FFA areas, parties/raid-groups would still be friendly within the group, but if you can attack anyone regardless of faction, would that be an acceptable solution? FFA punishes healers more than other specs and allows groups, especially larger ones, to dominate over solo and smaller groups; however, it does lessen the impact of faction imbalance. Personally, I don’t know either way if I think FFA contested zones would be a good idea, but I’ve wonder about it during the FFA-area crate drops in warmode and if it could be applied to PVP servers. If I recall, Age of Conan might have worked like that but I may be misremembering because I only played it near launch years ago.

The experiment failed, Blizzard. PvP servers died screaming. Remember this, and do not repeat the mistakes of the past.

Blizzard should instead focus on fixing their sharding tech and retooling War Mode’s rewards to entice PvPers instead of PvErs to get in the mix.

Again, it did not. Emerald Dream was balanced, it gave RP-PvP players the unique environment they wanted to play in, and was a thriving realm until Warmode and CRZ / sharding.

Folks aren’t arguing for the removal of Warmode, they are only asking for one PvP realm.

Blizzard, don’t listen to people who would not even notice a difference in their gameplay if a pvp server was implemented, and are solely on this thread because they do not like pvp and want to ruin it for others. I still do not understand why they are even here in the first place.

Free transfers on and off, and fine, it can exist.

Locking players in? Unacceptable.

We need to hold players hostage or it doesn’t count.

Nobody is asking you to join. We don’t want you there at all, in fact. Anyone who complains about pvp should NOT join a pvp server.

OP is right. We need a REAL PvP server like in the old days. There’s too many ways to abuse game mechanics evade and avoid world PvP right now.

  1. True 100% full time PvP mode in all zones.
  2. Zero sharding, no way to disengage combat by joining a new group or leaving one.
  3. Block and cancel any/all queues if/when combat starts with another player, and disable requeue for 30 seconds. Once you’re in combat you must stay in combat until someone dies, or players escape/disengage in a more natural way than just phasing out.
  4. Zero cross faction gameplay of any kind.
  5. Debuff/penalty if you’re within a certain range of your same faction while they are in combat and you avoid it (only for repeat offenders, too many PvE’ers that ignore combat and just go about farming etc instead of going to battle for their faction).
  6. Reward system for killing enemy players in the world.
  7. Faction locks when ratio is too far off.
  8. No player can have more than 1 of any faction on their character list for this server. Zero flip flopping allowed.

You care so much about pvp, that is kind of insane.

You only want pvp if you and your “friends” can come and go if you please. you can stay on your realm and do that. and pvp players could have their own realm to play on. You are opposed to letting others have fun because of what you want.

Agree with all this except the debuff. Lower level players should be able to avoid combat between higher level players if they feel like they don’t stand a chance, and not get penalized. All other numbers sound good.

U right they could add in certain filters or criteria for earning the debuff. I just don’t want it to turn into farmers and PvE’ers avoiding all combat while their faction dies. It ruins the ratio when too many avoid all battle at all cost. We’ve all seen it before where you’ll be the only true world PvP’er on your server in an area while there’s 20 of the other faction owning everyone and your side just sitting there like “LOL just here to farm kekw”

Yeah ED wasn’t the only pvp realm out there. Some might have been balanced faction wise, but many more were top heavy lopsided towards one faction. I hope they do create a pvp server though. Forums would be hilarious after few months with the fix the faction imbalance blizzard! Don’t see it happening though for retail, when there are true pvp servers folks can play on already. Granted its classic, but they are there.

The idea is for real pvp players to have a place to gather. So in theory, there should be none, or very little, PvE players on the server… that’s the idea anyways

Even the WM crowd should be excited at the idea of the worst of the worst all rerolling on PvP server instead.

That’s a whole wasted server for more sick raiding and m+ guilds to thrive.

I got 190 posts in and just cant take it anymore. Pvp is not popular, no server for you. The reason to not have a pvp server is THERE IS NO REASON TO EVER HAVE ONE. Its not popular, period. You represent an overly vocal and stubborn and truly irrelevant minority that can’t even stay non-toxic enough to maintain their own server populations or communities.
