If we could just get 1 PvP server

So you’d rather force them to play on servers with everyone else instead of letting them have their own Mos Eisley of PvP?

How is the number one argument against this “only super toxic people want this?” Let em have it and be out of everyone’s hair.

ITT - pve players that have no interest or experience playing on a pvp server still trying to convince everyone that pvp servers are bad and nobody would play on them. SoD and its four (half the total) high/full pop pvp realms says hi.

I really wouldn’t care if Daddy Blizz went back to the PvP server model, as long as Warmode is still a thing. And as long as my server wasn’t picked. The biggest problem I have with PvP is that it still is affecting PvE balancing, I’ve had to many nerfs because of some PvP issue. :hear_no_evil::speak_no_evil::see_no_evil:

Given how pretty much all of the Classic WoW PVP servers are PVP in name only and 90% or more mono faction I’d say this is not something that would work out how people want it to. (shout out to grobb if they’re still keeping the balance.)

As soon as one faction gains more high levels that can wander the world and gank those leveling the imbalance starts, very few people will join the “losing side” in character creation for a PVP server if they knew it was the underdog faction.

Even of those people who like WPvP will get tired of being ganked constantly by a player they legit cannot fight back against over and over and either reroll to the dominant faction or just quit the server entirely.

I legit can’t stop blizzard if they decide to remake these servers types, nor would I really care as I did my time on PVP realms and am decidedly PVE now, as an option but I really think everyone who is championing them to take off those rose colored glasses and consider the current community attitudes.

Giant world battles might show up for a month, but then would die right back down. My guild in TBC back in the day held crossroads for probably 5ish or so hours during a weekend, would love if that feeling came back but it honestly is unlikely.

Would server transfer to that wretched hive of scum and villainy in a heartbeat.

We can have pvp servers on classic with a way smaller pop there’s no reason retail can’t have one. The population issue is not a problem. Like many other people that have commented you do not care, you don’t get for other people to care about what you’re saying.

Classic has PVP servers in name only, this is disingenuous of you to say.

Grob is the only outlier to this that I know of. People want to be the stomper not the stomped, 99% mono faction PVP servers aren’t actually PVP servers at that point.

It’s not disingenuous to say they can exist and have a reason to exist.
The fact Grob still exist when Blizzard hasn’t done anything for wotlk classic servers to balance them is a proof that this can easily work.

People are not asking for a massive amount of pvp servers. Start with 1 if anything.

Many pvp servers were alive before Warmode and Sharding were a thing.

SoD has many pvp servers being in a reasonable margin for factions and it tried harder to balance them.

I can respect that. I do not think any one wants to hurt current realms or the current play. I believe it is more of a just give us 1 server to be strictly pvp no warmode feature. It would mean people re rolling a character there and should have no effect on anything else. I think asking for things is fine as long as it doesn’t take away from. Sadly wm did take away from an entire community. Blizz reasoning as a whole is fine, but its later and there really is no reason they cant or shouldn’t give them back 1 server.

There is no reason that you shouldnt be able to group up and do instances and raids with other realms or BGs are all on one server but the normal questing and everything else should be no layers no sharding on that server. Thats how you got to know people. Thats how organic groups start.

I wish balancing pve wouldn’t effect pvp but it does and balancing pvp effects pve as well.

Y’know, Blizzard probably would make a couple of purely PvP servers. And you know why I think that - because they like making money. And a lot of players who tried it would eventually get sick of it for the all the various issues that would occur and would be paying for transfers off it to keep their characters.

So who knows, maybe keep asking and mention the $$$ potential. You might get your wish :sunglasses:

Right, whats the worst that happens really? They make 1 server and it doesnt do well after a year and they collect transfer fees?

Probably. And we’d get a whole new rush of pvp complaint posts here. GD always functions well with drama.

Reading the forums is better than any daytime soap.

They need to take realms like Emerald Dream and similar like 2-3 and make them pvp or rp-pvp servers again.

People would flood them.

Does suiciding count? If someone jumps me I’m not gonna fight back, just take the honor and move on.

Ah good, so queue times get blown up. I remember when Horde had to beg Alliance to queue for PvP because the imbalances got so stupid.

Good gods, griefing potential much? You shouldn’t be obligated to help someone else in distress or under attack. What’s my level 30 gonna do to that 70 currently wrecking shop, or me 315 ilvl 70 versus their max-gear 70, feed them honor faster?

This exists, it’s called Honor and Achievements.

Wow, so if the server’s imbalanced you don’t even get to play your character or access it at all. Nothing could possibly go wrong here!

All still irrelevant to you because you don’t have to be there at all.

Those ideas were so bad that even the unaffected need to oppose them so they don’t get a chance to build momentum.

Maybe they’ll be so bad your friends would want to avoid switching?

100% agree

Man this thread sure has gone places since I poked my head in last :dracthyr_a1:
