Or you could stop mish-mashing things together, and frustrating the playerbase by changing classes around.
And Instead, We should get a New class that doesn’t steal from existing classes.
I think 4th specs are an awful Idea because you’d spread class abilities even thinner than they already are.
The only class I think deserves a 4th spec is Shaman, because they should be able to tank with the earth.
But If Blizzard gives one class a new spec, they’d feel obligated to give every class a new spec.
This could be cool too. But it’s not a good subsitute for a new class, When WoW is clearly missing a class that fufills the “Tech” fantasy.
Spell Steal - is basically already given to mages.
Control Magic - controls a summoned unit? So take control of mage elemental or hunter totems? Would they extend it to DK summon or warlock pets? Probably not hunter pets. How long would it last?
Spell Immunity - umm… never going to happen. Maybe as some 3 minute CD for x number of seconds. Think of how OP this would be in a raid encounter.
Feed Back - destroy mana per hit. Mana steal was a Shadow Priest ability that was removed due to how OP it was. It then got added back to DHs in a non-spammable and much harder to land way. No way they would give anyone this ability.
Just like how Dark Rangers AOE silence would just be way too OP (think old arcane torrent), so at best it would be an animation but still only target 1 person.
I don’t see SBs ever happening. Their toolkit is too problematic. And its abilities already exist in some nerfed form across the existing classes (sort of how witch doctors were essentially merged into shamans).
Im okay with talking about this now, If you want. I try to be respectful.
I agree with this to some degree. You’re totally right that it is a benefit to players to play a Trininity class when it’s harder to progress Alts. I don’t disagree with that at all.
However: I will argue that the benefits of making a Trinity class is limited to people who actually want to play all 3 roles, or at least more than 1.
In other words. A Careers DPS player who only wants to DPS ever doesn’t benefit from playing a trinity class more so than any other class.
So While players who like to play multiple roles feel pushed to play Trinity classes, I’d hardly say its a pandemic problem.
But Hey, To be fair i play monk
People say this a lot but I don’t think it’s true. It assumes that the player will never, under any circumstance, play another role. And I am guessing that’s rare if you get outside of Raid/M+.
In PVP, Torghast, Mage Tower-like events where specs matter, and RBGs, being able to slot over, even if you only do it 3 times a year, is an advantage a Pure DPS player doesn’t have. As a Shaman, I’d tank things for all 4 of those things I listed above. Because who cares? A tank is the difference between waiting 20 minutes, or zero minutes.
I can’t speak about this to any legitimate degree. I play Tank and exclusively tank for every single piece of content that I do in this game that isn’t World Quests.
Then I play my DPS spec, and it’s not like blizzard will make a class that can’t dps.
If we got a Tinker class, I would prefer for it to be a Trinity class because that makes the most sense and appeals to the most people
Yeah it’s probably hard as a tank, where scrutiny is only applied in RBGs. But as a healer, I’m just tank bait. Like “ok, if you join we launch!” But only in PVP am I highly valuable.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m gunning for a Shaman Tank spec, but that’s not some insane moonshot of an idea. That said, I care about that largely because swapping toons in Shadowlands is a new level of hell.
I love hunter and I especially love Survival. Survival could really benefit from a Petless ability. Really, all you would need to do is have a talent that replaces Kill Command with a different focus generator, and it needs to buff you in liue of having a pet.
Tinkerer class has been and still id my biggest excitement point ever.
Seems a some folks don’t really understand how awesome the Tinker class really is/could be but it’s nothing to do with the Hunter aesthetic.
Not only does Tinker have the cool factor of having amech suit, armaments’, deployable devices and turrets but it would add another class that can use range weapons. Has always seemed odd that there are only 2 specializations out of 37 total that can actually use guns/bows/range weapons.
Not to mention having another class that can use mail would balance out 3 plate/3 leather/3 cloth/3mail.
If you look at it from that angle then Tinker is literally meant to be.
I hope it the next new class as if it’s done correctly I would likely play nothing else.
If I could play as a Goblin, and Tank Dungeons and Raids in a Shredder suit. I would reroll so fast that It would leave Back to the Future-esque flame trails.
I would become a Blizzard Apologist
