If they do "Tinkerer" at all, it should be a Hunter Tree

Or that awesome Undermine Expansion concept that was posted for April Fools.
Looked cooler than Shadowlands.

My biggest issue with a Dragon themed class, Is that they weren’t in Warcraft 3.

Hear me out on this please:

Blizzard absolutely LOVES to steal Assets From WC3, Especially for class design. I dont think we would get a class that isn’t based on WC3, because then Blizzard would have nothing to steal.

It’s not a bad Idea. I just don’t think its a likely one because Blizzard loves to re-use assets.

you mean monk? the funnest class in the game?

Oh, I’m well aware of this pattern. I do hope they change from it though. The Warcraft universe is really vast. Limiting playable classes only to hero units in Warcraft III is silly. Yeah, there’s no precedent for a Dragon class, but hey, it would still be cool.

I agree it would be cool.

But, I’ll keep hoping that Blizzard decides to steal more from WC3, Until then I’ll keep riding my Mechano-Hog and Flying My Sky Golem, Hanging out in Places like Bilgewater Harbor. Hoping one day Blizzard fills out The obvious missing class in their roster.

(I’m Joking to some degree. I play a Monk Usually. I’m not that nuts.)

That’s the point… stuff like that is dungeon/raid type material that required 5-40 people to kill.

First line, I’m like…oh, man Thundahstahp! Enough with the tinker class! Ugh.

Then I thought about it. It would be cool to see an expansion where ALL classes get a new build added to them. I’m set against the tinker and bard idea, but could stomach the tinker knowing it was a borrowed power. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Beyond the snipe, it wouldn’t surprise me to see how we play classes morph from borrowed power to borrowed builds. Which could be a nice approach to adding uniqueness to a new expansion but still having semblance of the past. Some hybrid type extra talent tree would be ok. Even if it results in a class that could be considered a tinker. :frowning:

I mean. Jaina is a Mage, and a Raid Boss. But we can play Mages, We just aren’t as strong as Jaina

Garrosh was a Warrior and a Raid Boss. But we can play Warriors, We just aren’t as strong as Garrosh.

In fact, Gelbin Mekkatorque is considered the absolute Apex of all Tinkers on azeroth. He’s a super genius.
Of course HIS mech takes a 20 person raid group to kill. He’s Gelbin Mekkatorque.

Go To Azshara, You fight plenty of Shredders there, and they don’t require 5-10 people to kill.

Tinkerer class already exists, go run a bunch of island expeditions and run into the enemy units, from time to time there’s a tinkerer class on the opposing team, bombs, bubbles, mimic like devices, mechano pets… it’s actually a pretty good iteration of what it could be.

We’ve got abilities in game that currently go unused for a Tinker class. We’ve got Models for Mechs that curretly go unused. Plenty of assets in game just sitting around waiting for their moment.

It seems likely.

I think tinker’s only have to be loosely related.

There was already precedent of mech suits from BFA… so they could go with “our engineers have created this new armor to aid in our fight with xyz” - boom tinkers.

“Leveling is faster than ever” (is what the fanboys say to justify removal of heirlooms). Then there is always the 60 boost. Still not sure this is a show stopper whether it starts at level 1, 10, 50, 60.

It is also a pretty easy class to assign to mail, given it would likely be a shape-shift form for tanking, dps and possibly healing (assuming they merge Tinker and Alchemist heroes).

Still the biggest tell - all new classes have been based on W3 heroes or combined the abilities of existing W3 heroes.

Tinker remains one of the most distinct unaccounted for hero/abilities.

i mean they basically already exist in game via lore. Goblins for Horde. Gnomes for Alliance. also they wouldn’t be called “tinkerer” they’d be called Tinker. like High tinker mekkatorque.

I’d like a mechagnome tinker that played kind of like my BM hunter with a mecha pet. Just tech-themed instead of nature themed would be cool. Anything that boosts mechagnome participation really.

I like that hunter is distinctly nature themed. That makes hunter really cool.
I don’t want to mess with Hunter but trying to smash Tinker into it. That just wont Work.

Let Tinker be its own unique fantasy.

Well there are 4 eligible races now.

Gnomes, mechagnomes (which should have just been gnome customizations), goblins, and vulpera.

The Goblin Tinker in wc3 is nothing like hunter

I would also lump Draenei, Lightforged and Orcs, and Maghar on that.

Orcs, espestially the Mag’har love their guns and war machines

The Draenei have had space age tech and artificers since BC

Right, I agree. What I was saying is that a mechagnome BM hunter engineer with a mechanical pet is stylistically at least something what a tinker should look like. I don’t like the idea of them mashing it onto an actual existing class though.

Why wouldn’t it? The whole concept is loose.

More so than Spell Breaker?

Unfortunately, Spellbreaker wasn’t a Hero Unit. It was cool as hell though.
Their abilities are in WoW, Spellsteal got given to mages and Consume Magic was given to Demon Hunter.

I think he means the expansion concept only has to involve tinkers. It doesn’t have to be all about them exclusively

Yeah, this is why we should make new specs, not new classes. And honestly, the DH/Warlock thing still was one of the dumbest moves. Merge the two classes into one, five-specced class called Fel Master and solve the problem.

Spell Breaker should be given to mage as a Tank Spec.
